Comments about Product: The Jars was real cute. But they arrived all messed up. At least one jar had broken and the liquid spilled on all the other cartons. I had to return all Ten because of the damage. The Ten Jars was not packed correctly. There was no packing around the Ten Jars. They had foam around them in their pkg. But the box was not padded at all. there was 3 inch space over the top and about 10 ' space on the end of box that they were tossed every which way. That is the second order I have received from Plow & Hearth that was not packaged correctly. Sad because both products were cute.
Comments about Product: Overall the design is very cute but the lid's seal on top is not very good and some liquid leaked out in shipping. Also the glue used to secure the resin snowmen inside didn't adhere. So when you shake the globe the entire resin figures move. They are large so once you put the jar down the figures do settle back into place. At the sale price this is not worth the return shipping costs, but I would not order it at full price due to poor manufacturing.
Comments about Product: I LOVED these snowglobes, ordered both Santa & Snowman and would have rated them PERFECT however they both came damaged. Other customers wrote that the glass is thin and although they are definitely NOT mason jar glass, I did not find the glass overly thin. I just believe these globes really have to be packed with extra care besided the foam packing in the individual box. UPS can be unkind in the shipping process and mine both arrived shattered. They were to be gifts however Plow & Hearth was super on the refund and quick! Kudos to them!! Again, if you want to take a chance, go for it as some other customers have reported they received them without issue. The cute factor is there and they light up as well with EXTRA batteries included! Too bad for me!!
Comments about Product: I took a chance on this as some other reviewers had issues with breakage, and I am glad I did. This arrived in perfect condition. I got both designs and they were really cute in person. Just right for my country Christmas decor.
Comments about Product: Liked it so much when I bought as a gift for a friend that I placed another order for myself. The softly glowing, color-changing light also makes this a pleasant, cheery night light.
Comments about Product: My 7 yr old son ordered these for me for Christmas . He took them directly
out of the shipping box to wrap them. He was very disappointed when I opened them 1 was completely shattered & the other is leaking very badly. I do plan to return them & hopefully they will still have some left. I would suggest Plow & Hearth use extra packaging as they appear very fragile
Comments about Product: This snowglobe is terrific!! I missed the part of the description about the LED light effects, it really makes this snowglobe unique. I ordered the Santa and am back online to order the snowman. These are really cute!
Comments about Product: I bought several of these for Christmas gifts for co-workers. When they arrived: one was a box full of broken glass, another was leaking, another had the figures inside floating around!
But I must say- Customer service was great about replacing them!
Comments about Product: I ordered both the "Mason Jar" Santa and Snowman for my new grandson (named Mason). One was broken in shipping and arrived in a wet box. Both items are just tacky - I wouldn't display in my own home and certainly wouldn't give as a gift. Most importantly, these are not Mason Jars...they are thin, cheap glass, with thin cheap lids, and a thin, cheap ribbon. I returned both for a refund. Surprising and very disappointing as this product is definitely not up to Plow and Hearth standards.
Comments about Product: Purchased 4 for gifts. One was broken when received and that is how I discovered mason jar was very thin glass. Received replacement but now not sure I will use as gifts. Kids like snow globes and this seems to break easily. If I use I will warn recipients about this problem. When you think of mason jars you think of thick glass--not so with this product. I was disappointed.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
