Comments about Product: Got the tall set, very hard to find especially at this price. Good job Plow and Hearth!
Perfect for our fireplace insert!
Comments about Product: Our tools arrived today so we haven't done anything but assemble the stand. So far, I have no complaints. We recently installed a fireplace insert so the smaller set is perfect for us. The tools feel very sturdy and I love that there are no handles to come loose. I like everything about this product with the exception of the brush. Maybe it will work fine but it seems very soft compared to the one in the set we're replacing. Not sure why it would be made this way but I can only hope the company knows something about sweeping ashes that we don't! ;)

Hand-Forged Fireplace Tall Tool Set
Comments about Product: They look good and are functional also.
Assembly with the Allen wrench provided was a bit challenging. Needed to get pliers to loosen bolts.
Great for Small Spaces
Comments about Product: We only had a limited space for this set and it fits perfectly.
Comments about Product: The bristles on the brush are not firm enough to sweep with and the total amount of bristles is rather thin. The shovel is very shallow so you can't shovel as much with each scoop. The other items in the set are fine.

Work as they should
Comments about Product: Looks and works great.
Decent tools, a bit pricey
Comments about Product: These made a nice gift. My only complaint is that the broom was pretty squished when shipping, but it has straightened out somewhat.
Comments about Product: Well made product

Very nice sturdy fireplace tool set.
Comments about Product: I am using this mainly as a decoration to make my gas log fireplace look authentic and it does a good job. Now if they made a nice sounding fire sounding gadget, that works that is, no one would be able to tell the difference. I so love a nice realistic fire and my new gas logs accomplish this.
The assembly was easy and the set arrived quickly. Thank you Plow and Hearth.

Great fireplace set!
Comments about Product: Goes well with the black fireplace screen we ordered years ago from P & H. Handles the big logs we sometime use in our fireplace. No separate handles to come unscrewed. Very satisfied with set.
Useful and attractive
Comments about Product: Service /delivery excellent - was a gift.
Nice set of tools
Comments about Product: I think this will go nicely outside. At the fireplace.
I would purchase product again
Comments about Product: I ordered the tall set and am happy I did because our last set was too short and this set works great. The quality is very sturdy and has a rustic design.
Just what I wanted
Comments about Product: This fireplace tool set is a simple, classic design with a smooth finish (I ordered the black). The stand is sturdy and was easy to put together with the allen wrench provided. The shorter height is perfect for my raised hearth. It's exactly what I was looking for.

Strong, sturdy, sound
Comments about Product: We use for winter fireplace needs; we just recived recently, & already, it is performing well, feels solid, w/sturdy joints. The stand was fairly easy to put together..all parts there, but needed x-tra "hand." It would be nice if the "broom tool" was fuller. Overall, quite nice.

Comments about Product: We have a small wood stove that we needed tools for. I bought the this tall set and am glad I did! They are long enough that your hands don't get too close to the heat and they work wonderfully!

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
