Hand-Crafted Large Wooden Indoor Or Outdoor Snowman

Looks great indoors or out! Top quality folk art!

The snowman sits outside our front door under cover, however even the tiniest breeze causes him to fall over on his face! I thought for the price he would have been made of a heavier material...I was wrong.

We are using this snowman outside in a front flower garden, with a spotlight on him at night. Although he will stand alone, significant wind will cause the snowman to fall over. My husband constructed a sturdy stand attached to the back that is not visible from the front, and it has withstood strong gusts and rain. The arm with the bird is attached, but comes off for packing purposes. The paint on our snowman is of excellent quality. He adds a lot to our festive outdoor decor. Because the snowman is not decorated specifically for Christmas, we plan to use him outdoors through February. A coat of clear polyurethane paint, perhaps a spray paint if available, will help preserve the paint for extended outdoor use. We are exploring this possibility with our snowman.

Snowman arm with red bird is not attached. It will move and come out easily and does not stand good in any wind under shelter. The paint on my snowman was not very good but was painted on rough lumber. I used this snowman on my porch with lighed trees. One tree has helped it to stand.

I LOVE THIS SNOWMAN...HE FITS IN WELL WITH OTHER WOODEN SNOWMEN I HAVE HAD FOR YEARS. HE IS ON A STAND IN FRONT OF MY LIVING ROOM WINDOW WITH spot light on him, and can be seen from the street. his face is jolly, and have twinkling snow flakes hanging above him.....added fluffy snow around the base, great greeter for visitors.

I used in on our front porch. It was very visible from the road and a nice greeting upon entry. I wouldn't recomend putting it in the yard exposing it to rain, snow, etc. It doesn't look like it would handle it well. I was disappointed with where the side & front pieces came together. It looks like scrap pieces were used to make the front portion leaving a gap toward the bottom corner. It's hard to tell if it's intentional or not as it is more of a rustic piece. Overall we are happy with our purchase.

This was so so poorly made and in the picture it looks so so nice, so so poorly painted and I could not get mine to even stand up. Very dissappointed at how poorly it was constructed but Plow and Hearth customer service said I could return it and since it was defective, hopefully will not be charged for the return. Not even a full piece of wood for the front of the snowman, cut out part in the wood in front that is not to be there. Product made in China.

The arm with the cardinal on it is a separate piece and the peg does not fit in to the snowman well. It just kind of hangs out and leaves a space between it and the body of the snowman. I wrapped it with bubble wrap and then put the arm peg into the snowman. Seems to have helped. Not sure how well it will hold up to strong winds. Should have a perpendicular support on the back.
