Comments about Product: I bought one to test and ordered more for gifts. It's a perfect blend of sweet & savory; very fresh and the snack looks attractive/inviting. It's more than the ordinary snack mix. My friends and family love it.
Comments about Product: I was a recipient of this gift this past Christmas. It became a highlight of the day to dip into the tin and I had to ration it to make it last. Pleasantly low-sodium for a treat.
Comments about Product: Whenever I order The Gourmet Snack Mix, I order extras to give as gifts. It is a family favorite, as well as a hit with those on my gift list at various times of the year. I love the packaging because I can give it "as is".
Comments about Product: This snack product covers it all - salty, crunchy, sweet. The flavors are real and the product is very fresh. I served this during the holiday season and everyone loved it! But I won't wait for a holiday - this can be served any time of the year.
Comments about Product: I bought 4 of the Gourmet Snack mix for Xmas gifts. After I tried one, I did not give them out. You have another snack in a smaller can called just Snack Mix (or Holiday Snack Mix?)which is what I thought...I'd purchased. And I purchase ALOT from P&H during holidays. This particular snack mix was so salty, I just gave away the other 3 I'd purchased ([$]ea down the drain.) Everything else I've purchased from you is usually delish and on-target, so I was really saddened and disappointed with these - also, you should pick very different names for products that may be extremely similar so customer isn't fooled, disappointed or confused when she thinks she is buying one and receives another. Keep the holiday mix that has NO salt and is great for gifts but NIX the Gourmet - it's anything but....Maggie May

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
