I'm very satisfied with the unit. Very good quality, reasonably easy to assemble, looks great, and I find it to be quite stable.

Still in pieces; can't make heads or tails out of the very poor, incomplete assembly schematics; not one word of verbal guidance; parts are not even identified on the inventory sheet, and are not referenced in the schematic. Would take a genius to re-pack it and send it back to P&H. A call to customer service was no help at all. P&H should not sell a product so far beneath its traditional standards of quality.

About Me Midrange Shopper
Comments about Plowhearth Glass-Front Media Cabinet:
I bought the large glass-front media cabinet for media primarily (cd's, dvd's, video games). Came with 8 shelves, metal pegs, and I am pleased with its versatility. I can store books and collectables also. I thought to use it by my front door, due to its dimensions, for mail, keys, shopping bags, umbrellas in plastic box, but I like where it is so looking to buy additional units...I can only speak for the one I have, but construction is sturdy and has to be bolted to wall because of its dimensions; I'm not bothered by that as it is logical given its weight distribution and height.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The directions to assemble this could have been a little better. It is very attractive, but smaller than I had imagined by the pictures. (My fault for not looking closely at the measurements before ordering.)

A Beautiful Product
from Mission, KS
I was a little worried about ordering furniture online, but was pleasantly surprised with my media storage unit. The product came triple packed in cardboard, so it arrived safe and sound to my house. I opened it up and the finish and wood grain on the unit were just like they were pictured in the catelog. The directions for assembly were not the best, but I have assembled a lot of RTA furniture in the past so it was no problem. The best thing to do is to study to direction pictures with the actual pieces in hand. One person can assemble, but it is much easier with two. I am very happy with my purchase.
Great. Excellent quality and design.

We purchased the same product a few years ago and were pleased it was stil available when we needed a second one. Top notch quality. Easiest piece of furniture we have ever put together.

I've purcahsed other hutches from you. The quality of the first (wine hutch) was far superior. The wood splintered slightly when the screws were screwed in. The other also came assembled. I won't buy furniture from you again. Too bad, I was a good customer.

Poor design. The cabinet is off balance and requires bolting to the wall. Wasn't as high quality as it appeared in the photos. We're very disappointed. I could have purchased something very similar at [...]

Really love the product. I like the overall look, but - as with all of the products that are particle board with veneer....I am not sure how many times they can be assembled and disassembled. From a practical use standpoint - it looks beautiful, and is very functional. I really would like to buy and find something domestic rather than imported, however.

I love this cabinet. The only problems is that it needs to be anchored. It fell on my husband while he was putting it together. We have two small children so we need it to be stable. Love the look!
Highly recommend. Looks great!

The cabinet matched my solid oak floors perfectly and my Mission style furniture. I have an older home and limited space in the dining area. This cabinet was perfect due to its depth size and contains my glassware, dessert plates, and table accessories with ease. The top exterior had plenty of space to display my "treasures" and tall vases. Completes the "look" in my dining room. Not so great: took 2+ hours to assemble before putting on the doors. I had to get a friend to assist with the door hanging to ensure they were straight. I would recommend adding into the directions to place a dab of wood glue in the joint holes to ensure a tighter fit.

We got the double-wide and liked it enough to order a matching single-wide tall unit. They flank our new oak Amish-made entertainment center and are a perfect match to it. Easy to assemble.
Beautiful cabinets, made very well.

Great for DV D's and CD's. So easy to assemble. I did it myself and I'm 70. I liked the first one so much, I bought 3 more.!!

I have lots of books, CD's and movies and now most of them are all in one spot. I was able to get rid of the numerous holders I had. Takes up so little space and looks nice. For the price it's a great piece of furniture

The description said some assembly required, but it was total assembly, which was very time consuming. Like the looks of the product once it was done.
We would definitely buy this again.

Our one year old is into everything and so this is great to be able to have the space for all our movies and games without him being able to get into the media center. The light color also worked for us to be able to blend our other furniture. Such a great item!

Just as Advertized
from West Haven, CT
Item had to be put together, but directions were easy to follow. It looks very nice in the room and holds plenty of CD's and DVD's. It came with a plastic tie device to attach it to the wall so the cabinet wouldn't tip over. I guess it's a good safety feature, but it was awkward to install and attach to the wall.
Pretty and solid

The box was missing the assembly directions. However, we called Plow and Hearth and a nice young woman was able to find a copy and faxed them to us pronto.
Beautiful Cabinet - Lots of Space!!
We used it as a DVD/CD Cabinet but then it was so beautiful - we moved it into our "lounge" area and have filled with our glassware!!
A Terrific Buy
from Vass, NC
The wood finish is wonderful and it is well built. It holds a great deal of DVDs, CDs, and Tapes and hides it behind glass doors that make these items look so tidy.

No Value Here
By Plow and Hearth customer
Use it to store DVD's. The assembly instructions don't say anything about adjusting the hinges and if you are not careful and start by adjusting the hinges the doors will rub against sides and damage the cheap surface finish at an instant. Also, the wall anchor behind is difficult to install but must be used to prevent cabinet from tipping forward when you open the doors. This product looks good in the pictures but quality is below acceptable. Better to save your money and buy something that is well built.

Used as storage for our DVD and VHS collection. Easy to see when you want to choose a movie. It is well constructed and beautiful addition to our living room.
