The Jury is Still Out
Comments about Product: This is my third one of these. Have built two thus far. This third one is still in the box until Spring so hard to give it a rating at this point.

Loved the product, dissappointed in cs
Comments about Product: Very disappointed in customer service, would have liked the free shipping, will not order from you again!!!
Comments about Product: I just purchased a second one of these obelisks. I have had one for 4 or 5 years and it has held up well. I use then for growing clematis vines. They seem well made but are a bit of a pain to assemble and they only give you the exact number of nuts and bolts so if you lose one, you are in trouble. They are well made and heavy duty. I would buy another one if I had a need for one.

Loved it for the purpose I purchased it
Comments about Product: Love the look, except I did not see from the picture that there was a cross on the top, that is a problem for me. I bought two for next to my fountain. It was somewhat difficult to put together, because some of the holes would not line up correctly, it took my husband and myself to finally get it assembled.
Comments about Product: I bought two of these trellises. They are exactly what I needed to create a focal point for the front of our house.
Perfect solution for my deck
Comments about Product: I replaced my wood deck rails with black steel railings. I had a 10" gap between the railing and the house that I filled using this obelisk. A perfect solution, as they match and work very well together. The obelisk fits well in a square planter in which I have planted a wisteria vine.

Comments about Product: When I got it all together and was inserting into the ground, the screws striped out. No extra screws were sent. I think a person should get the bottom part into the ground and finish putting it together then. No I would not recommend to a friend.
Comments about Product: Ideal to support small clibers in a pot which I am using for my Clematis plant
Looks like good quality
Comments about Product: For pots or ground
Will be nice to display my vine
Would have rather had real copper

Just What my Garden Needed
Comments about Product: This is a unique addition to any garden. I used it as an ornamental accent as well as a support for a climbing hydrangea. The plant is a little taller than half the structure to allow growth. Planting was done around this piece to showcase it. The price is a real buy for this type of quality
JUST WHAT I WANTED
Comments about Product: Fairly easily assembled. Seems substantial. Have planted a vine to climb on it and cover some outside boxes on the house. Think this will make an attractive addition.
Coco basket liner for 8' obelisk
Comments about Product: I absolutely love these baskets! They were purchased after ordering my other 3 sizes of the obelisks, and I am really glad I did. Since they only fit the 8' obelisk, I added some wave petunias in all the baskets and it is simply beautiful! Great purchase!!
Love my obelisk!
Comments about Product: We are using our obelisks in pots on each side of our front door. We have Gerber daisies and sweet potato vines in each. We also are using one out back for our clematis, which works GREAT!
Comments about Product: I have this in my yard where I can look out the window and see it every day. I have a mandevilla planted and can't wait until it starts to grow larger and vine up my obelisk. Also, very good product quality.

Doesn't come together - need to resolved
Comments about Product: Need to correct ill fitted lower legs at base. Doesn't fit correctly so consequently unstable.
8 Foot Obelisk
Comments about Product: I do own all three of the obelisks in the antique copper color and they are beautiful! The 8 foot was a little more challenging to assemble, but I did it by myself (female) and love the look it brings to our front yard!! I staggered them since our front yard slopes, placed them behind potted blooming plants and am extremely happy! Great purchase!
5 Foot Obelisk
Comments about Product: I love these beautiful obelisks! I bought all three sizes and have them in the front yard at various locations as just accents and backdrops to planted pots, etc. Great purchase!
7 Foot Obelisk
Comments about Product: I love these obelisks! I do have all three sizes and stagger them in the front yard due to the fact of our front yard slopes quite a bit and they look awesome! Love the floral detail around the rings!! Great purchase!

Beautiful and Functional
Comments about Product: I'm using these in my vegetable garden to stake my tomato plants. They are functional and everyone that has seen them says they look like art work in the garden. Even when tomato season is over, I plan to leave them in place because they look so good!
Comments about Product: I have two (5 ft and 7 ft) that I have in large pots for growing tomato plants on my patio. I wanted something more durable and more attractive than standard tomato cages. I ordered the 5 ft one at least 8 years ago. Then added the 7 ft one 3 years ago. I am now ordering one more this year. If I get tired of the tomatoes I could grow anything on these. It can get very windy and I have left them out in snow and ice during the winters. They are very sturdy. The finish does wear a bit from the original copper but it remains attractive.
I would buy this again
Comments about Product: I bought it to support my climbing roses it was easy to assemble & put in the garden it looks beautiful.

Comments about Product: Exceeded our expectations. I used it in a Landscape island in my back yard as a focal point. I also have Honeysuckle climbing up it. Beautiful !
Comments about Product: Nothing is growing on it yet, but it seems durable enough to hold the weight.
Comments about Product: Excellent quality. Exceeded expectations. Was concerned that the gauge of steel used would make this piece cheesy and flimsy. Wasn't the case at all. Very happy with the product. Four hands work better than two during assembly.

uncertain about quality
Comments about Product: We've got them assembled and outdoors. the metal seems quite flimsy and I'm concerned about the durability... esp. living in North Texas where our weather can be quite difficult to endure. I've never purchased from P&H before and I'm not sure I will - at least for things that need to be durable. Quite frustrated and disappointed.
Comments about Product: After Sandy necessitated the cutting of two trees that were used as summer supports for my clematis vines, I purchased these obelisks for that purpose. My son assembled them in about 15 minutes. They add structure and interest to the garden and the copper color I chose is lovely.
A real pain
Comments about Product: When ordering I asked if there was any assembly involved and rep did not seem to know. The catalog description DID NOT MENTION any assembly, but I assumed there had to be some. Product was shipped and arrived with NO nuts and bolts to put it together with (42 of them to be exact). When I called to let P&H know, they said they would ship them to me....did not offer any sort of compensation for my inconvenience....I had to ask. Was not thrilled with this. Also I asked for them to ship the forgotten pieces to me overnite....this did not happen. This was on Thurs and and I didn't receive them until Monday late. Very poor customer service. Product is satisfactory, cost is high compared to what I got.
Sturdy and functional
Comments about Product: Delivery was prompt. External packaging was crushed. Internal styrofoam protected product but was also damaged in shipping. Went together easily & so far looks good and is stable in garden.

Stunning and Sturdy
Comments about Product: Used an 8 footer and 7 footer to provide support for an antique climbing rose. They look great!
Very nice product
Comments about Product: I purchased two 5 footers and one 7 footer - one for each small raised bed in my garden. I plan to use two for tomatoes and one for pole green beans.
decorative touch with muscle
Comments about Product: the clematis are finally happy in the yard - it's time for them to have a permanent support - this one is thick and sturdy
Now my flower garden turns heads
Comments about Product: I have a garden spot with bird feeders and bird bath and my Obelisks with beautiful flowers - the space is lovely and alive with all the activity from the birds.
Comments about Product: Putting them together was easy. They are not delicate. The tubing is about 3/4" around so the look is substantial. I would have liked them to be larger around at 7 feet tall. All in all they look nice in the garden.
Handsome in the garden
Comments about Product: This is a sturdy, attractive support for any vining plant (clematis for mine). Assembly not bad...just easier with two sets of hands. I'm very pleased with my purchase and Plow & Hearths service.
Comments about Product: In assembly, bolting some of the horizontal rings to the vertical tubes was very difficult. If there is an easy procedure for lining them up and attaching them, the instructions should be more detailed and explain it.
Looks good and seems sturdy.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
