Comments about Product: This is the best purchase I have ever made!!! My knees are no longer strong enough to be crawling around doing garden work that I love so this has been perfect for me. I know longer have to worry about trying to get up from a sitting position on the grass & can just "scoot" all over doing my yard work. My neighbors are jealous & have already borrowed it. Well worth the money!!!
Comments about Product: My wife has wanted one of these for years. The"scoot
n Do" saves her knees and lower back when weeding and planting. We really like the pneumatic tires and easy steering. Thanks again PLOW and HEARTH!!!
Comments about Product: This was a gift for my sister, whose knees had started restricting her time in the garden. The height is just right, and the pockets/baskets are convenient and useful. The fat tires don't sink into the soft garden soil. She loves this seat so much she'd like to motorize it to visit the neighbors!
Comments about Product: Finally found a 'sturdy' product. Have used several types of roll around storage seats to work in flower beds and they just didn't hold up. This one fits the bill great. Was just a little harder to put together than I expected, but was doable. Steering is more intended to be used when pulling rather than when sitting, but overall a great product. I'm very happy, thanks.
Comments about Product: bought to use in my small green house and yard
love the pull handle, needs to lock better so
when you are going downhill can stop better
love the adjustable height seat
love the storage baskets
attached the back basket higher with wire to help
detaching/attaching wagon easier
have had a blast with my new pull toy, neighbors
has asked where I purchased
love the green color
Comments about Product: I was disappointed in the Quality Control. The box was torn. The seat on the Caddy is scratched. The Building Instructions were not easy to follow. Thank goodness, my husband, is very handy in that department. I like the Caddy very much. However, for the price, your company needs better Quality Control. Felt like the product was tossed in the box & then delivered.
Comments about Product: This past year we started a vertical garden and shortly after it was installed, I had serious back surgery. We hoped the caddy would allow me to still be able to work in the garden during recovery. It is a good height, well contructed and useful; however, it is difficult to manuever. The front doesn't turn easily and there are some difficulties with the handle mechanism. OVERALL...it is still useful.
Comments about Product: Other versions utilize plastic components doomed to failure, justifying the slightly higher cost of this sturdy version. Only time will tell whether or not the tires hold air like they should. Pneumatic tires/tubes don't seem to hold air like the pre 1980's high latex versions ...
This seated cart is better than I expected.
Comments about Product: After having surgery on my right foot, I have not been able to do any gardening. With the Scoot-N-Do Caddy, I'm now able to work out in my flower beds again. It is easy to pull, I can move around once seated, and it also holds my gardening tools. Thank you!!
Comments about Product: purchased for my husband who is 6'4", weighing 220 lb. he has chronic rheumatoid arthritis and his knees ache terribly when kneeling or squatting. this has given him the ability to continue gardening, which he loves, but allows him to do so with much less discomfort.
Comments about Product: I love this for weeding my garden. It truly relieves back pain and sore knees. I can get most of my garden weeded and pruned with this. It is very sturdy. I love the baskets that hold all of my gardening tools. I can even keep a water bottle with me as I work. Highly recommend this product.
Comments about Product: This product saves my back & my knees. Surgery took away my ability to squat, bend or get on my knees; and now I don't have to!! I use it not only in the garden, but for any "low" and hard to reach project, like painting, or sorting out items in the garage. The baskets under the seat and in the back are very handy for tools & gloves. It is basically quite sturdy. No, it doesn't turn 90 degree corners, but that is not a problem for me. The assembly was a little tricky, as the carriage bolt to hold the the seat down was so long we couldn't use a socket on it. Also the holder for the back basket doesn't fit exactly and the back basket itself falls off easily if you pull it too fast or on bumply surfaces.(just don't put your can of soda in it!)Overall I am quite pleased with this garden "tractor".
Comments about Product: for years i said that someone needed to come up with a rolling seated cart with heavy duty wheels that i could use to scoot along my flower beds to easily weed. Since my back is a constant reminder that i cant do the bending/ kneeling required to garden, this cart has made it possible to stay out and complete my projects. Also it made painting the bottom half of my house a breeze! Just scoot along paint without breaking my back! Anyone thinking it might not be worth the price.... think again best investment ever!!!!
Comments about Product: The Scoot-N-Do caddy was bought as a gift for my mother who had had knee replacement surgery. The best little caddy with its compartments to store gardening tools and is also lightweight; easy to move about. Again it's great for people who can't kneel and have back problems.
Comments about Product: This is an excellent product though somewhat pricey. I use it for gardening, especially weeding.
Being over six feet tall I find it is a perfect height for me. One improvement would be to have the handle lock in the extended position as now it tends to want to collapse going down hill and makes the scoot difficult to control at times. Other than that I love it and expect many years of use from it.
Comments about Product: I LOVE this product! Having bad knees, I gardened from a folding chair for a couple of years before I found the Scoot-N-Do. This is SO much better--it carries my tools for me & is easy to pull around. I do have to stand up to move it to a new location, but I don't find that to be a problem. It makes gardening so much easier and more enjoyable.
Comments about Product: This isn't your grandma's scoot-about. This is solid steel tubing and can really move some heavy things. With a load weight of 300 lbs, this cart is almost as good as my metal utility wagons. I have no doubt this will outlive me and probably my children its that well built. If you are getting this for your elderly mom or dad, then rest assured that they will get a great workout moving it around and could even find themselves collapsing in exhaustion as they struggle to move this thing out of a rut or stuck in mud. Think of this as a simple sit down scooter in the same way one would think of a howitzer as a hand-gun.
Comments about Product: I really like it. It is sturdy and will last forever which I like. I is hard to manuever in small areas as it is so heavy to lift. The handle could be better and it definitely needs a braking or locking system. (I live on a hill)
Other than those issues it is a great relief for me use while gardening. I love it.
Comments about Product: Too heavy a product. Does not roll well. Handle is not easy to slide.Just received it so cannot tell if it will weather well. Need to buy cushion for that seat with so many holes! Not satisfied with the product for the cost[...]
Comments about Product: I bought this present for a friend for her 60th. Her husband assembled it the next day and she seemed very thrilled to receive this so her gardening chores could be done with more ease.
Comments about Product: this is a great product however one of the welds that holds the handle on came off the first time I tried to pull it and we had to reweld handle on...other than that I really enjoy using the tractor and it sure saves on the knees
Comments about Product: This is sturdy, seat is adjustable in height, carry baskets are handy, wheels are substantial. The only thing I would like the manufacturer to improve on is the steering mechanism. It is steered easily when you're pulling it, but it is very hard to maneuver, while sitting, by using the handle. You have to get up and move it if you are making a turn. If going straight, you can scoot it while sitting. It really is easy on the back. I love using it when weeding, trimming bushes, adjusting parts on my bike, etc.
Comments about Product: This product is too heavy and does not allow for easy maneuverability around the garden. The handle gets in the way. Using the handle to turn the wagon is like using a stick shift to drive a car. The seat is hard and needs a pad. When you want to move to a different spot, you have to get up and pull the wagon. A product lightweight enough to "scoot" around the garden would be preferable.
Comments about Product: I have wanted one of these for a couple of seasons. I'm glad I finally purchased it. It makes my life easier and my husband is thrilled that I am actually helping in the garden instead of just giving orders!!
Comments about Product: I use this to plant and also to weed my garden. It is easy to get up and down from a seated postion and much more comfortable than kneeling or squatting. It made my spring planting more enjoyable than ever.
Comments about Product: I needed something that wasn't too low yet comfortable enough to sit on and work in my flower beds. This is perfect--gives me solidness for getting my feet steady to rise up from a sitting position. It was a little challenging to put together, but all-in-all, I love it!
Comments about Product: Since I have trouble with my kneees I love my Gargen Caddy. No more bending, squatting or crawling on my knees to work in my flowers. I would purchase this product again. It's a little pricy, but well worth i.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
