Get Rid of Stink Bugs Indoors and Out with Stink Bug Traps

Do not buy this trap. It does not work. It is hanging INSIDE my new screen porch where hundreds and hundreds of stink bugs are hatching out everyday. The bugs are confined to the inside of the porch but NOT ONE bug has gone into this trap. Not one! I have wasted my money. I was going to return it but the wind blew it off and cracked it so now I can't even get a refund. Very disappointing.

This thing is laughable. In an area massively infested with stinkbugs it did not even capture or attract a single one. I bought three and didn't get a single stinkbug, but did manage to catch two ladybugs and a moth. Save your money....someone will eventually find a solution, but this ain't it. I did keep one for my failed stinkbug trap hall of shame, and it puts off a nice little glow for some evening ambience.

Apparently the bugs I have which everyone calls stink bugs are not. They were not attracted to the light at all. I purchased both the attractant for outdoor and the light for indoor. Did not catch one bug in over 2 months, yet they flew around the house.

Have used this for two months now, and the number of stinkbugs caught is pretty amazing. What's more, I have seen only 4-5 in my house that snuck in an open door since I set this up on my deck outside the door area. Last year my deck and house interior were covered in the critters! I am refreshing the lure one more time... and will also hang one in my attic to catch any that may be hiding there. A BIG relief!

I bought these as soon as I saw them advertised and my LED lights were shipped out yesterday. I have three traps set around the house. All of them have trapped many stink bugs and one slug. So far we have only had two bugs in the house and that is a very small number compared to last year at this time. The only one upset about that is the dog because she likes to chase them. Surprisingly, the traps did not seem to work as well near my tomatoes, which were covered with the pests. Yes, I did lose some tomatoes, but when I compare that to the number of dead bugs that got trapped and are NOT in my house, this product is definitely a winner. There are no pesticides that might harm my animals or asthmatic grandchildren. It was easy to assemble and set up. And I have only emptied the traps once. The bodies are piling up but they dry up quite a bit and there are usually enough live ones that I don't want them to escape. It is too dark outside to take a photo, but in the one trap I probably have between 75-100 bugs. I have bought two for my son's house and although he said he only had about four in his house last year, there are already some in the traps.

I am so glad that I decided to purchase this. At first I didn't think it was going to work. For the first two weeks there were no Stink Bugs in the trap...so I decided to wait longer before giving up. Yesterday I went down to look and it had a bunch of Stink Bugs trapped. I was so happy that this really works. For those of you that claim this doesn't work, I would recommend giving it some more time or relocating it. Can't wait for the LED Light to become available, I'm sure it works just as great.

I have 3 traps and have had to empty them multiple times over the past 6 weeks or so. I first hung them in my fruit trees with limited success. I noticed that there were numerous stink bugs on my deck railing so I moved 1 trap there and the results were amazing. I now have all 3 traps on the deck railings and am catching hundreds of stink bugs. I think that when the traps are near their food source, the food attracts them more than the trap lure.

Contrary to the other reviews I have read, the stink bug trap I purchased is working. Since the area of concern to me is a balcony that has patio doors to my living area, I could not hide the trap in foliage too well. The trap was placed between plants but stands alone and is working. I even considered not hanging the trap at all after reading the reviews but did anyway and am pleased.

I bought three of these and hung them up outside, making sure I followed the directions. Three weeks and all I got was a single spider. Then this morning I was pleasantly suprirsed to see a few stink bugs in one of the traps. I checked the others and came up empty. Jury's still out, but so far I'm less than impressed.

I purchased this produt two weeks ago and followed the instructions to "T". bottom line: zero stink bugs in the traps and many on my house and plants. The stink bugs have been on the outside of the traps but never go inside.

I have had two traps up for two days in the garden and in between and within 30 feet of two garden plots. There are stink bugs on the plants in the garden and so far I have caught one juvenile stink bug and about 20 ants.

I have put this with my tomato plant which now are infested with stink bugs. Not one stink bug entered the trap. It was suggested that I move it away from(out of the foliage of the plant) still not one stink bug collected. What a waiste of money and time. I am going to try that trap that is made from a pepsi bottle..

I tested this in a large vegetable garden 4,500 square feet. This June, the blackberries attracted thousands of stink bugs from the surrounding woods, and then after the blackberries were mostly destroyed, the stink bugs ruined two nearby varieties of tomatoes and peppers. By August two varieties of tomatoes were destroyed. I tested this trap properly within foliage, outside of foliage, etc. After 10 days, only about two dozen stinkbugs were trapped with thousands still in the garden. I saw stink bugs land on the trap, crawl on it fly away, but they rarely entered. This product has been rushed to market without being properly tested. I am a biologist with a background in entomology, and natural products chemistry, and have written articles on organic seed production, and integrated pest management, so I am quite familiar with insect control. The pheromone for the brown marmorated stink bug has recently been isolated but not used in this trap. If a pheromone is used it is from the Asian stink bug which is only partly effective and not at the right time of year for the brown marmorated stink bug. It is not clear to me what attractant has been used, but if appears not to be a pheromone (sex attractant or aggregation pheromone). For the first time in 30+ years I will have to resort to sprays (organic, if any work) for tomatoes, peppers, and blackberries. An effective trap has not yet been designed for commercial use. A totally black, cone-shaped trap is used by one stink bug researcher. I was initially hopeful about using this trap but was disappointed.[...]

This was the biggest waste of time and money for me. It does not work - except as a bridge for the bugs to walk over.

Last year, my two boys and I had such a stink bug infestation in our home. As a Plow & Hearth employee, I jumped at the opportunity to test this product so that we could see just how effective it was before we carried it in our stores. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the stink bug trap worked! I am grateful that heading into this season we have something to keep our home free of these crawly creatures!

I am visiting my daughter in Virginia and just picked up this new stink bug trap from the local Plow and Hearth store today. Can't wait to see if it can control the little buggers. It reminds me of a japanese beetle trap. I plan to hang it under an outdoor light.
