The instrutions should have stated to assmeble bench but leave fasteners loose until every part was fitted. The back did not line up well enough and part of the bracket broke when trying to align the pieces. I wish I would have left everything loose to help with getting the bolts in place and aligning all the parts properly.

The hex-holes for the bolts made assembly very easy.

I had no problem assembling this alone. It is very sturdy and attractive. The only thing it needs is a little more weight. I put it on the deck and it blew when the wind picked up. My solution is to use a bungee cord on each leg to attach it to the railing of the deck - problem solved! I would definitely recommend this and would like another in the larger size!

I bought this bench about eight years ago and have it bolted down under an oak tree in front of my home where it gets a lot of use!
I just wish Plow & Hearth would also stock the longer 72 inch version this German company makes.

This bench looks good on our lawn next to the putting green. It has that golf course/park look. The best thing is that it will last longer than a wood bench (sprinklers will hit it) and it won't get as hot as a metal bench.

The bench came in perfect condition, was easy to put together and is continuing to look nice. It is comfortable because of it's back. The benches we have bought recently have sturdier legs than the original ones. We discourage people at the beach from dragging them but they (new ones) seem to be holding up.

I first bought these German made vinyl benches TEN years ago because of the style. I wanted our yard to look like a park. They are very sturdy and we're still using them. Every time someone visits or I send pictures of our yard via email to friends and family, they comment on the benches and say how much it makes our yard look like a park. We're going to be adding lamp posts soon. There used to be German made matching square planters, we bought two, but those have turned quite grey and mottled. The benches haven't, they're great, so maybe that's why they stopped selling the planters. A few reviewers are right about the middle not being as sturdy as the ends, but the middle is still sturdy enough. I weigh... well, too much... and I sit in the middle of the benches ALL the time. I don't think I've been happier about any other patio furniture purchase as I am about these benches. I love them.

This bench is attractive and comfortable. A bit of a struggle assemblying it on my own as the center support was not well-fitted. After just a couple of months, there is slight sagging of the seat in the middle. Still, for the money, this is a good buy and should hold up well in the garden for a long while.

Bought this to replace 2 rotting adirondack chairs. It is weather resistant- but the park bench look is not terribly attractive in a yard as the chairs were. I would not buy this again.

NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PAINTING, OR ROTTING, THIS IS FOREVER AND BUILT&DESIGNED TO VERY HIGH STANDARDS. GREAT QUAILITY AND EASY TO ASSEMBLE PLUS... HEAVY ENOUGH TO SIT AT THE TOP OF A HILL IN HIGH WINDS AND NOT GET BLOWN ACROSS THE YARD [AND BREAK APART].....THAT'S WHY I REPLACED WITH THIS!
