      Love this piece! Got it because it's so perfect-looking decoratively in our French country kitchen, but have used it as a very solid step-stool several times. I leave it in a corner in the folded-up position and my teen son uses the steps to store his shoes--fit quite well. When you unfold the steps, it's got a metal latch that secures them and then it's very solid to climb. Just the piece I was looking for, well worth the price. Love.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
