Exceeded expectations. My recessed light cans had 2 springs, so I anticipated these would work as a previous comment had reported, and they did. I expected to need the light socket extensions, but I found that the light sockets inside my recessed light cans were adjustable up and down. So, no extensions needed. There was a learning curve in installing the two springs, but by the time I got to number 16, I was connecting the 2 springs in less than a minute.

the fluted trim is beautiful. it really finishes off the room, they look so expensive but are really so affordable i purchased 2 different styles to put through out the entire house. it really makes such a difference. our friends liked them so much they are getting them for their house too. they are very easy to install.

These were installed during my kitchen remodelling and they are a classy touch. My kitchen remodel cost upwards of $200,000 and I can't imagine the high hats without these trim rings. They are worth every cent. I had an electrician do the install and he did agree that the installation was not a snap and could differ depending on the type of can the light is housed in.

I loved the look - it matched other lighting fixtures perfectly. But, would not fit my recessed lighting. After inspecting the recessed casing - it read not to be used with any type of diffuser.

Out of box, put together, then tried do decipher the instructions to hang. That was tough. Realized after 25 minutes I'd need someone to hold flashlight. Didn't have anyone so I put it away till the wife was available. Attacked it two days later and after some deep thought and problem solving it hit me between the eyes, almost literally. Realized the reflector cone could be taken off and held in front of me in order to attach the springs from the trim. Attached the springs to the end of the cone where it secured to the metal pan and light socket and within 5 minutes I was finished with the first one. Did the other three in the next 15 minutes, that's the time from opening box, putting together trim, then hanging the trim. It was easy after the first one! BTW, I did have to get socket extenders so the bulbs would fit and that added about $11.00 to the final price.
Wife loves them and I think they spruce up the kitchen with a little more class!

I have pretty standard can lights in my house which has wooden ceilings. I thought these would look really nice but they did not fit. I did not realize that there were different sizes of standard can lights. The installation if they had fit my lights looked quite a bit more involved than the description would make it sound.

Moving in to an older home, we were not happy with the older style recessed lighting in the family room.I looked for two years for an affordable way to update the lighting without having to tear it out, and then I found these! What a great way to dress up the old recessed lights and not have to spend a fortune.I have gotten so many complements and asked where to get them.I send people straight to Plow and Hearth and tell them what a great company they are !!

Really nice upgrade to my canned lighting. Only one issue and it is with the catalog/web description. To say these "snap" on is misleading as you need to be able to reach up into the light fixture to attach the small springs and hooks that attach to the electrical fixture. Someone with other than small hands would have a difficult time installing these.

Used in bar room at a primary business and personal entertainment venue (lake house). We were among those needing socket extenders. MORE than worth it. Stunning appearance. When have you ever noticed can lights? People notice and comment on them, regularly. If your can lights' housing installs with 2 springs you should be fine. If not we say professional modification is well worth while. We will order A LOT more for rest of house!

Great Product. Used three of the trims to add some glam to the new bathroom recessed lights, plan to order some in a different color for my new kitchen's recessed lights as well. I did have to add some short socket extenders so the bulb was low enough but these are very inexpensive. While a little tricky to install with large hands (my electrician's)--the job got done quickly.

These rings were extremely difficult to install. If they weren't so beautiful and add so much to our decor, we would have sent them back. We were not aware that there were so many different configurations of pot lights - apparently our builder used a very cheap version that did not work well with the trim rings. My husband had to fabricate certain parts to make the rings fit. The result was fabulous, but it was an all day project to get the first one installed. After that, the rest were easy. I would only recommend this product to someone who had a lot of "do it yourself" experience.

on each light cover. Once we installed them they look wonderful.

This product doesn't easily fit all standard recessed fixtures as catalog described. Installation was fairly easy, but could'nt attach light bulb into socket once the fixture was in place rendering product useless.[...]That being said, if the fixture would have worked out, it looked great in the ceiling.

These are fine products, but what the product description lacks is the nature of the fastening mechanism. You need a fixture that has a place on the sides of the can to attach the spring wires that hold the rings in place. My cans have a different type of stiff spring that attaches the external ring to the bulb receptacle itself and there was just no way to adapt this product to that application. An on-line graphic showing how these fasten onto the can would have saved me the trouble of ordering.

Would I recommend these to a friend? Sure, if I checked out his fixtures first. Otherwise, I would not.

The product looked great and I couldn't wait to install them in my new kitchen. Unfortunately they would not install in my recessed light fixtures. The whole canister would have needed replacing. Unfortunately I had to return them.

This lighting exceeded my expectations. They are really nice quality glass fixtures, installed like a dream and add a nice custom look to any room.

We bought these for our kitchen. They look wonderful once they are installed... BUT, to install them, we had to go buy socket extenders because our recessed lighting fixture was too deep to work with these covers. The socket extenders were 1.25" and cost $2.74 each at [...]. Well worth the expense, but still a little annoying that they didn't install without extra hardware. I think there are just too many different recessed lighting fixtures to say "fits standard recessed lighting". They need to identify what "standard" is.

An attractive retrofit for existing recessed lights but the application requires a special reflector not common to some brands of recessed lighting cans. Would be good to specify the types of recessed light cans the product works with. Would save a lot of return postage and aggravation.
