This is a sturdy PE tarp material cover with nicely trimmed edges and grommets. It should last a good while. It fits the small firewood rack nicely. My only issue with it is that the slots that allow the cover to fit over the uprights of the rack are big enough that the wood will get wet under them. To address this, I cut a couple pieces of heavy plastic sheeting to put under the slots, over the logs. That's satisfactory. I like the fact that the cover slides over the uprights, but I'd be willing to pay more for one that had a center velcro or fastening flap to cover that big slot.

Comments about Plowhearth Floating Log Rack Covers:
The large size does not have the slits to fit over the metal wood rack ends as shown. It has velcro seams along the corners - top to bottom, but the whole top needs to be stretched over the top of the wood rack to fit over the wood pile and it looks awful - plus it will not hold up stretched that way. Very disappointing that it does not provide the custom fit and look shown in the photo - nothing mentions that the extra large size has a different construction. And the extra large wood rack came from Plow and Hearth, so you'd assume the two go together. I'm going to have to alter it to fit over the top of the rack. I would not recommend it if you order the wood rack and expect them to fit as shown in the photo. The rack is fine on its own, but you'd be better off getting a heavy tarp and some bungee cords to secure it.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Nice design, poor quality
By Jim the Runner
from Lexington, KY
I've replaced this cover once a year for the past two years (and I live in a central climate) - no more. It's a nice design, but very shoddy construction. You can do far better elsewhere.
About Me Homeowner
Rather light weight. We'll see if it lasts more that one season in our Nebraska winter.
log rack cover

floating log rack cover- heavy duty, holds up well, this type keeps top wood dry while allowing the rest to get air to further season
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Floating cover & extra large cover
from York, Pa
I purchased two covers: a floating cover and the extra large cover. After about 6 weeks, I returned the extra large cover due to premature wear. It would not make it through the winter without ripping. Could have been the cold weather but I felt it should have held up for a couple years, anyway. The floating cover seems to work out well. I returned the large cover with an explanation about two weeks ago but have had no response as of yet.
So far so good holding up and not taring
from Newtown, PA
This cover since it is a floating one works better than the one that doesn't float with your wood load. The other one tore within 30 days of use and this one is holding it's own.
Valcro closure is stronger than the seam
from Hartford, CT
when trying to open the valcro to get wood, the seam ripped instead. Generally, it did not keep the wood dry. Might be just as good to leave the wood uncovered.

Another great product
from Midland, TX
This cover is very easy to use--more so than the full size. It gives better access to the logs without a struggle.

Does not last very long exposed to the weather, as was our need.
What you see is what you get!
from Chandler, AZ
Purchased this cover as replacement for different cover that disintegrated under the AZ sun. After 9 months this log cover looks new and remains intact with no material cracks, tears or unravelling of the seams.
Great; love it
from Pittsburgh, Pa
I loved this item. We had an especially bad winter with lots of snow, and our wood was kept dry, but was very easily accessible with this cover. I would recommend it to any of your customers.

A great cover

About Me Midrange Shopper
It fits on the frame of the wood stand well.
Love the way the ends slip over the handles so the cover goes down level as the log pile decreases. It gives a nice clean look. Is still nice looking and durable.
Best ever wood cover design
By Fuss Bucket
from North Georgia
The floating cover is a great idea. It covers a huge supply of wood and keeps it dry. The only problem is that the fabric and seams around the cutouts pulled loose and tore during very cold, windy conditions. It's still far better than using a cumbersome tarp.
Wood dwindles, cover floats! Perfect!

works just fine.
"makes wood look pretty"
By Sassy Cass
from Topsham, Maine
The cover does exactly what i need, covers the wood to make it look more attractive on my porch and keeps the elements from disturbing the wood.
Not secure enough
from West Bloomfield, MI
I like the product but it needs tie downs as the wind picks it up and exposes the wood to the elements.
This log cover fits just right
from New England
This cover protects the wood from the top down, but allows air to circulate. We've had other covers but this worked best this season. After a long winter of constant on-and-off use, it was in great shape and we'll use it again next winter.
Floating Log Rack Cover
from Fort Worth, TX
The quality of the cover is excellent, but I expected it to be longer from top to bottom. If anyone asks I will advise them to go to the larger size.
