I ordered these after reading reviews on many deck planters. I'm glad to say the reviews helped me make the right choice for my deck. It took just a few minutes to install these over the railings. Luckily the brackets JUST made it over my railings for a good fit. I'm hoping the liners are durable throughout the season. Thanks to all the reviewers who gave their honest opinions on these and other products! I cannot see how these would work as window boxes . . but maybe I'm missing something.

The lining drains more than we desired so we placed a piece of plastic inside each window box. We did not line it all the way up just part way and it works perfectly.
We live in the Pacific Northwest and still have some Snap Dragons, Johnny Jump Ups and Geraniums left in January. I have 5 of these window boxes and love them.

These planters were more substantial than those found in local stores. We attached them with self-tapping screws directly to the stair rails on a basement walkout. The brackets that come with them are designed for a deck rail and were not suitable for our round top metal railing. Before planting, we added moisture-retaining polymer mats. It drains well.

They look charming with trailing flowers on my weathered wood picket fencing and below my windows; lined the coco liners with dogfood bags and they hold moisture perfectly.

I put this on my front porch railing and filled it with some ivy and sweet potato vine. It is just lovely with the leaves flowing over the edge.

I was so disappointed when I got these planters after spending a good deal of money on them. I had purchased them to go in my two front windows, but when they came the brackets that came with them were so inadequate there was no possible way to mount them to my window. There is no hole in the bracket where it should be that would allow it to mount to a window, and even if there was, the bracket doesnt even stay put on the planter.. add the 20 or so pounds extra in soil and flowers, plus more when there is water and Forget about it! After hours of trying to somehow get them to "balance" on our window sill without falling and completely ruining the beautiful flower arrangements we had spent so long on, we gave up and instead had to just mount them to our front railings, where they are not even a slight Fraction as adorable as they would have been in the windows. So disappointing :( Overall, the appearance is awesome and they hold SO much, but there is no possible way to mount them to a window, therefore almost completely defeating their whole purpose.

I placed these liners in my window boxes before it was time to plant and they seemed to deteriorate more quickly than I expected. Perhaps their being exposed to sunlight and rain without soil and plants in them contributed to this, but I was disappointed.

I bought 3 window boxes and they are just the right touch for our second story deck; adds charm and a cozy feel. Can't wait for next summer to try some new flower arrangements! So thankful I know right where to get replacement inserts! Thanks P&H.

I've seen similar for double the price; on top of that, the competition did not include the coco liners. Looks great mounted, holds lots of plants. I bought two, then bought two more a month later.
