Heat From Your Stove Powers These Fans
These Canadian-made eco fans for wood stoves automatically turn themselves on when the stove warms. They increase in speed as the temperature rises to help circulate heat away. They are a must-have for anyone with a wood stove, as they improve the heat in your house and save energy. Plow & Hearth offers the fan blades of each circulating stove fan in two styles: gold or nickel. Choose from a small ecofan that circulates up to 100 cubic feet per minute (4-1/4” x 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”H) or a large one that circulates up to 150 cfm (4-1/4” x 5-1/2” x 9-1/4”H). I purchased the fan in hopes that it could move hot air from the Buck stove into the room should the utility power go out (as it has in the past). It can barely move the smoke of an extinguished match.Very cute and fun to watch. The physics are way cool. But for an "off the grid" item...no way.

Comments about Plowhearth Ecofan:
The expense may deter most, but it is well worth the money for how it moves the heat from your stove into the room. It is super quiet.

About Me Casual/ Recreational
Works just like its supposed to. Keeps the whole two story house warm. Had no idea that this small fan would work so well & it's so quiet I have to look to make sure it's running.
I like it.
from great bend , Pa.
It worked well the first year. This year I was having trouble with it. It wouldn't spin. I found out the stove wasn't hot enough. When the stove got real hot it was spinning like crazy. I love that it's totally quiet and takes no electricity.

About Me Avid Adventurer
we've used this fan for years and love it. it circulates the heat really well and the blades spin fast and smooth. the only gripe i have is that it's a little difficult to clean the dust off of, but canned air does the trick. it's an amazing little thing and i wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
from Kersey, Pa
I wish I would have gotten the more powerful one. it is so quiet, you can't even hear it.

not for everyone
from Ann Arbor, Mi.
I own an insert, and try as I might to make sure the temperature stayed below 650 degrees the unit still seems to work less well with each use. Hope that they would design the unit to be able to handle insert conditions, that is, allow the fan to be placed somewhere besides at the back a stove. With an insert, one simply cannot do that.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This was a fantastic purchase ;)
About Me Professional/Guide
We got the large fan and was pleasantly surprised at how well this fan works at dispersing the heat into the room. Amazingly you can't feel the air movement and yet it has consistently brought the temperature up by 5 degrees. We are extremely pleased with the fan. Well worth the money spent, we were concerned it was not worth the price. Oh, yes it is!

Ecofan: Fantastic Invention!
By Mountain Lady
from Tuolumne, CA
I use the small Ecofan on my woodstove and wall heater at home. This fantastic invention is perfect for heat circulation especially during winter power outages! I save money on electricity because it doesn't need any!
quiet green at work !
from Cold Connecticut
Have used this entire cold winter and heard the oil heat clicking on less often as fan better disseminates wood stove air throughout our great room. Place it and forget it. No need to set or adjust anything after initial optimization trial.
Pleased with fan.
Works well, moves alot of warm air.

Perfect fit for us!
from Poneto, IN
As a secondary fan on our wood stove this fan fit the bill. It is light weight and easy to position. Great for when the electricity is off and you still get air circulation. A little costly, but well worth it in the end.
It works !!!!
from new jersey
Purchased the fan for my son. His principle source of heat is his wood stove. He reports that this product extends the warmth much further and operates quietly.
I wish it had moved more air around and then it just stopped working...I returned it[...]
Exceeded expectations..its like majic!!!
from Poway, CA
works like a charm placed on top of wood burning stove & really moves the warm air out into the rest of the house. Purchased as a gift for my husband & he was pleasantly pleased with its performance.

We have now purchased 2 of the Ecofans, so we obviously think they are great little workhorses. Pushes heat to corners of room.
Nifty little gadget, a little pricey
from South Carolina
I gave this as a gift for my parents to use on their new soapstone wood stove. It doesn't move a whole lot of air, but does help some to distribute the heat from the stove. The main advantage is that it requires no power. It lets you know when the stove is up to optimal temperature for the catalytic converter by the speed the fan is going.
superb in every respect

Very little airflow from the fan
from Southern New Hampshire
About Me Midrange Shopper
I had high hopes for this fan. We have two woodstoves and use two box fans to move air around. I bought the large fan for my husband on Christmas hoping to eliminate one of the box fans. The airflow from this fan was hardly noticeable and didn't help move the air around the room at all. The size of the room is about 15' x 25'. Maybe the fan would make a difference in a small room.

About Me Budget Shopper
Works great on a small wood burning stove. Circulates well and speed lets you know when its time to add wood. No electric or batteries is a great plus so no added expenses. A real conversation piece.

We couldn't be more pleased with this fan! Tho it is not as powerful as the electric blower we have, it still circulates the hot air out into the room with NO noise and no elctricity! It does a great job!
What a workhorse this fan is !!
from Paso Robles, Ca.
We love this little fan so much. It just works beautifully for the purpose that it was intended.
I have a woodstove in a fireplace insert-I was losing so much heat up the chimney until this year when I bought this fan--it circulates heat like no other and it is finally warm in my cold Maine home! Thank you thank you thank you!
Works like magic!
Our wood stove is in a large room so it's harder to actually feel the direct effect of the fan, but it is a great indicator to let us know whether or not the fire is well stoked and burning hot! On a less practical level, the science that causes the fan to work is a great conversation piece and "brain warmer" for elementary school aged children.
