Paradise Palms Lighted Beach Cottage Birdhouse - White
Add a touch of the tropics to your yard with our charming Paradise Palms Lighted Beach Cottage Birdhouse.
This cottage style beach house is full of character and style that observers will appreciate, along with all the right details to attract song birds to your home.
Battery-operated mini-lights around the roof line add a touch of sparkle after dark. They operate on a timer: 6 hours on, 18 hours off.
Exterior-grade solid wood and plyboard is long-lasting; solid wood roof decking and flooring. Unpainted interior, drainage holes, ventilation and removable clean-out panel creates a clean, dry, non-toxic environment. A 1¼" entry hole is just the right size for smaller birds such as finches, nuthatches and wrens.
A removable back wall makes cleaning a breeze; a swing-up paddle board on the back makes it easy to install onto a tree.
Birds will love the unpainted interior, while you'll love the resin flourishes including a little palm tree, front porch and lattice work. The roof is comprised of real pine shingles. Takes 3AA batteries, not included.

Materials & Care
Over time, this birdhouse will require some easy weatherproofing if used outdoors. Avoid chemicals and sealants that can be harmful to wildlife. We suggest preserving the wood with a clear, UV-rated polyurethane product recommended for marine use. Apply only to the exterior of the house (not the interior nesting quarters). Depending upon weather exposure and wear, you may need to reapply yearly.
The roof shingles are naturally weather-resistant and will age to a silvery gray patina. This is perfectly normal and they will maintain their functionality regardless of color.
