I HUNG THIS LIGHT OVER THE HEADBOARD OF MY BED FOR READING BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP AT NIGHT. I HAD BEEN USING A BEDSIDE LAMP THAT DID NOT GIVE ME THE PROPER LIGHTING THAT I REQUIRED FOR READING. I bought this lamp for my daughter's room, so she could shut it off from the bed. It hangs nicely on her old iron headboard. It does hang low like some of the other reviews say, but I actually think that's nicer since the harsh light isn't right in your eyes when you look up. It gives off enough light to read by and be cozy and the pull chain is sturdy and works well. I really like the fabric shade; much better than some plastic shade. I like that it even came with it's own CFL bulb at a nice low wattage which is sometimes hard to find.

Bought for a bed in French Provencial, ivory color. It looks TERRIFIC! Even though that room has three lamps throughout, it was a necessity to have one on the headboard for convenience in reading at night. The color, embroidery, are a perfect match to the furniture....we love it!

This lamp is wonderful on our bed. The light is just right, no heat from it and it is really wonderful when you are getting sleepy you just have to reach up, pull chain and you are good to go. It is a lovely shade too (we got the one with floral design on it). Got one for our guest bed also! Would recommend to anyone. Great item for the money spent.

I love this lamp; I'm on my third one from Plow and Hearth. However, the latest one is kind of a bust because the bulb insert (sorry, can't think of the name for it) keeps unscrewing from the rest of the lamp and just hanging there. It will not stay screwed in. I have used the other two till they pretty much wore out and will continue to give this lamp a chance. I love it.

It is hard to find a lamp that hooks on to the headboard so I was excited to find this one. It is attractive and would fit into most bedrooms. However, it will not work on an average size headboard. When I hooked it on, the light ended up a few inches from the pillow! It could not be adjusted. Regretted that I had to return it.

This lamp is great! I purchased this lamp to add a little extra light and make reading easier on my eyes. I never expected it to make such a major difference! If I wake in the middle of the night I just reach up pull the chain and the lights on. NO streaching to find the lamp on the night stand! Little things CAN make a BIG difference.

This is a very nice quality and nice looking little reading lamp. I need a lot of light to read, and formerly needed to use a light on each side of the bed. With this lamp positioned over the headboard, I get the light I need. The low-wattage specialty bulb it came with was useless for me, but this isn't a problem because the lamp also takes a standard 40-watt bulb.
