Just Not The Same

About 3 years ago I purchased a similar bench from P&H, the bench seat on this one is over a foot shorter. Not enough room to seat 2 adults comfortably. It's well made but won't disassemble for storage as easily as our original one. It's quite sturdy though.
love it, so happy with my purchase

Love these benches!

Easy to fold up and put away for winter, will last for years this way;not as long if left out yearround. A great look in the garden or on a deck or porch. Very easy to move from place to place as needed. A good place to rest while gardening!

First off, the assembly is a snap. What assembly? The bench arrives folded in half, just open it, attach four screws and you're done! It looks gorgeous at the end of a path in a zen garden, and that's what I bought it for... Certainly won't be sitting on it, as I weigh approx. 250 pounds and I doubt it would hold me: the seat of the bench is not made from whole bamboo stems, but rather from thin layers of it, maybe 1/4 of a steam each. Other than that, recommended for lighter people!

easy to assemble
I would buy this product again.

I use this bench in my garden as a zoning out station, it works. It's money well spent.

This is what I've been looking for -- a perfect rustic bench under an arbor of clematis vines, converting my garden "path to nowhere" into my new path to the bamboo bench.
from Taos, NM
This bench was a cinch to assemble. I use it in a large tiled shower, with a hand towel thrown over it, so that it's easy to sit and shave my legs! Fits perfectly and is sturdy. COOL!!!
Great Bamboo Benches
from Bend, Oregon
I have 3 of them around a wood burning fire pit. I did not put the screws in them so that i could fold them up and bring them to the garage in the winter and they are still very sturdy!

In our winters (Massachusetts) it doesn't last more than 3-4 winters, but it looks nice until then and is priced realistically.

I wanted this for a small space on my front porch. I always have more people than will fit on the two chairs I have out there. The bench works well, but I need to make a pad for the top so it will be a little more comfortable.

Great value for the money

I have two of the benches on my front porch. I just had my front yard landscaped with a very simple, Japanese inspired design. The benches just fit in perfectly and the price was really good.

Finally got it on sale, and was not disappointed. I followed other reviewers' advice and did not attach the screws, and I move it undercover when it rains. It's solid, sturdy and good-looking; a great find.

Exactly what I wanted

I am very happy with my bamboo bench. I placed it against the wall of the house on a small front porch. I'm using it to hold a small fern in a basket at one end and a place to sit on the other. It looks wonderful with the bamboo wood chimes and the pagoda-like line of the porch roof. The fact that it can be folded up for storage during the winter is a definite plus.
Very Good Buy

Bought two and had them assembled in a jiffy. They are everything I expected them to be. One is at the foot of my bed and the other outside by a door. Versatile and attractive. Glad I got them.

The bamboo is varnished with something shiny that peels off in big flakes! This happened after just a few months outdoors in a mild climate. As one other reviewer said, I may just peel all of it and go natural. Otherwise a nice piece for the price.
Didn't last long!
After only about 6 months, the shiny finish started to peel off in big papery patches. I like the overall look of the bench, so I might go ahead and peel all of it, and see if the natural bamboo will look OK. We don't have extreme weather here, so it should be an indoor piece if you have very sunny or cold weather where you live.
EXCELLENT GARDEN BENCH, WELL-ENGINEERED
from Tenafly, NJ
Was SO easy to put together! I'm a 63 year old woman. took me about 1 1/2 minutes. It's light enough to lift, yet heavy enough not to blow away.Lends your garden an Asian, oriental-garden look, but can also blend well with other garden themes. I use the two I purchased in a side garden used for meditation. It will match bamboo wind-chimes perfectly!!! And two look great in any configuration.
from Kagel Canyon, CA
The bamboo bench makes a wonderful coffee table. I needed a piece to match the papasan chairs my teenage daughter chose as a living room set, and everything else seemed to clash. Since the chairs are also bamboo, the bench was perfect! Glasses with small bases need support, however, from a tray or plate.
I would buy this product again and again

This bench is made of bamboo, which has the reputation of being a top-notch sustainable product. And the bench when it arrived did not disappoint. It's a perfect choice for our garden pathway.
Nice addition to garden area

I wasn't sure exactly where I would use this in my garden when I purchased it, but I loved the way it looked and knew that I would use it somewhere. At the moment it's sitting on a paved walkway off the deck between potted plants up against a privacy screen. Assembly was very easy and only required screwing the legs in place. It's very sturdy and it didn't wobble when I stood on it to hang a windchime in place on the overhanging eaves (though this is probably not recommended!) Can be used as a bench for sitting and also makes a great place to sit smaller potted plants. I've only had it about a month so cannot comment on how well it will hold up in the elements, but it looks exactly as pictured on the website. It's not too heavy to move around easily, but, as I mentioned earlier, is still sturdy. Highly recommend as a very versatile and lovely accent for the garden.
Folding Bamboo Bench
from Pittsburgh, PA
What makes it difficult to assemble is that tiny holes have to be lined up before screwing parts together. You cannot see when they are lined up. We used a straightened paperclip to stick through one hole to find the other hole before screwing the parts together.

We have two of these benches. They are attractive, sturdy and are handy for garden path seating. They can also be used as an extra low table Easy to assemble if the screw holes match up. They matched in one bench, but not in the other. If always left outside they will look weathered and be difficult to clean.
