I order this in January as a gift for my son.
However, it only arrived the beginning of May and it's past the fireplace season.. We'll see how it does this winter.
Wish Plow and Hearth had notified me it was going to be shipped.

This bucket is grey, not black as I expected. Should say "charcoal GREY not charcoal BLACK" in the description. The lid doesn't fit as tightly as I expected, either; I thought it would be airtight. It's not. It does what it's supposed to. I would prefer if it were black. I would recommend this bucket to a friend but would tell them what I've said here.

This is certainly functional - so far, but it isn't much to look at. I expected it to be much darker since it's listed as 'charcoal black'. It just looks unpainted. I intended to keep it on my hearth, but won't be doing so.

This is a perfect container to hold warm ashes from the fireplace, and The lid keeps my curious cats out of the ashes until I can take them outside for disposal.

We recieved this buicket in the mail the day our friends new shed burned down. They were dumping ash from their fireplace (that sat in an aluminum bucket for 2 days outside),into the compost pile behind their shed.The ash ingnited the shed. I ordered another double-bottom ash bucket imediently for my daughters home too!

We wish this came in a 5 gallon size, we had to purchase 2 buckets. They are very awesome and very good quality. I would recomend this to a friend.

I really needed an ash bucket for my fireplace. This one looked nice on the website, and it is nice I guess but it's kind of on the plain side. I had thought I would keep it on my hearth thinking it would look pretty and be functional. It's functional and does what it's supposed to, but I don't keep it on the hearth afterall, it didn't look as nice as I thought it would. I still like it, I still need it, but it's just not as charming as I thought it would be. :o)

This is a nicely designed, attractive product that sits adjacent to our wood stove in plain view of guests. We use it regularly. It holds a sufficient volume of ash and hot coals to be highly functional. It does not transmit heat to the floor.

Looks so nice sitting on the hearth. I use it to hold kindling and then to remove ash when fireplace is cleaned. The double bottom makes it very sturdy thus handles the kindling with no problems. I opted for the copper one since I have copper studs on my leather sofa. The bucket enhances the decorative sofa studs nicely.

I ordered the copper, but received the black. After taking a second look, I'm glad the wrong product was sent. The black is attractive. The top fits on the bucket securely, snaps in place. I haven't used the product yet, but by inspecting it I'm sure it will more than serve it's purpose. And it's much more attractive than other buckets I've seen.

We liked this so much we got another! The price was right - and it makes life easier to have 2 when you need to empty ashes before you can get out to the ash pile! Love the look(we bought the copper) and it is safe to keep inside after you've put hot coals inside. A great product.

We have only had the black ash bucket for a month and it looks great next to our fireplace. We use it every day and it is the perfect size and easy for an elderly person to handle. I love the tight-fitting lid and especially the fact that it has a double bottom. (Our other buckets burned thru and damaged the floor). Good product!!
