I purchased this cape for my elderly mom thinking she would wrap herself in it and settle in on her recliner. She actually preferred using it to cover her legs and used the pockets for the remote and tissues.
When I first opened the bag the cape came in, I picked up a smell of an oily substance, perhaps some kind of fabric finishing product. I washed the cape in warm water, air dried, and it was fine.

I got this as a gift for my grandmother. It's even prettier in person than in the picture. It got a lot of complements at Christmas. I also got the microwavable hand warmers so she can heat those up and slip them in the pockets. It's best for lounging/sitting around. Probably to big to wear and walk around in.
