Magnetic Screen Door
Comments about Product:
Easy to install. No instructions enclosed. I have two dogs and the screen does not close propberly and leaves open gaps for insects to come in.

Excellent for hands free access
Comments about Product:
We have two dogs, one large and one small, who both use the screen to go in and out all day long. Now they 'shut' the screen for themselves! The humans love it as well for hands free accessibility.

Not enough magnets
Comments about Product:
We bought this in August and was hoping that this would be something really good. The problem is on the 30 inch wide screen-there are two magnets, more are needed. If the wind blows even slightly the magnets separate, there is a big open space in between the two magnets. We had all kinds of bugs flying in when using this. We used it for about 20 days and it was a disaster. I guess we kept hoping even on days when there wasn't any wind it would work. We thought about adding more magnets to it and we'll try that and see how it does in the Spring.

best mesh screen door yet
Comments about Product:
We were looking for an easy screen door solution for air circulation in the house and easy access for the dog. This is perfect and our friends like it too. Great for carrying food and cocktails out to the yard without having awkward juggling with a door. Cheaper versions do not compare as the screen is a good weight, has an adequate single magnet in the middle and the bottom is weighted for stability. We do have windy days in the winter and that contributes to tearing but I'm happy to replace this door every other year or so as i have not seen anything better.

Getting another!!!
Comments about Product:
I had one for 2 years. Used it on my French door therefore no screen door inhibiting view. Both the dog & cat used it easily. Velcro melted in the hot sun and didn't stick to sides well. Magnets were strong enough to hold closed. Easy to install. Definitely need to order another one for this year!!!!

Great Alternative to Metal Doors!
Comments about Product:
I have double French doors that I like to keep open in the summer months. Metal screen doors would have been cumbersome. This screen alternative works very well. I will probably have to replace it next summer because of the dust that accumulates in the mesh. I was hoping it would be easy for the dog to use but found that I had to keep a flap slightly open. I still really like the product and it works well for me.

Disappointed, not as described
Comments about Product:
Great concept, but it doesn't work as described. The magnets are pathetically weak - I have to use safety pins to close the middle, which defeats the purpose of having magnets at all & easily walking through the curtain. It makes no sense whatsoever why the company doesn't provide magnets that work.

The Olla: A Brief History

Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.

When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.

The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.

Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!

How it Works:

Water is pulled directly through the terra-cotta!
