Comments about Product: I can see where these would be good for the outdoors. For my bedroom, the sheerness & the quality of the fabric was not what I was looking for.

Width not as advertised
Comments about Product: Width misrepresented
These curtains were just what I needed!
Comments about Product: Great product, delivered promptly.
The curtains are beautiful, light and airy which looks nice. The seem to block heat, allow plenty of light to come into room but not a privacy curtain.
Great customer service
Comments about Product: Needs better packaging, received damaged several times but customer service was great

Outdoor Gromment Sheers
Comments about Product: I love these curtains. I have purchased and returned 6 sets from other stores till these arrived. These will be staying.
Excellent outdoor curtains
Comments about Product: I have had two sets of outdoor panels for my porch before buying these. One set I paid more for but the quality didn't compare to these. Though this is the first season, it seems I won't have to replace anytime soon. Great value for the cost. Very happy with these and many compliments from the neighbors.
Very pretty at first...
Comments about Product: Loved these when they first arrived. We hung 4 on each side of hot tub. When the summer was over, all of them had faded but one turned an awful green-brown. Thankfully they exchanged it for me. Now I have the new beautiful green one and the rest don't match.
Good product but MUCH cheaper elsewhere
Comments about Product: The product is lovely and is as described. However, I found it considerably cheaper elsewhere for EXACTLY the same item. This is a BIG difference especially when you purchase more than one. I called Plow and Hearth CS and they pretty much blew me off.
Great Quality Drapes But:
Comments about Product: I really enjoy the curtains. Have them hanging with some beige, heavy duty curtains outside around some underneath patio area by our pool. They flow really nicely when the wind blows. The only complaint is that the blue stripe faded to a light purple in some areas. Not so noticeable unless you get up close so I'm continuing to use them.
Outdoor grommet sheers
Comments about Product: Although they were advertised for patio use, I use them in my kitchen eating area to block the sun in the afternoon. I can still see the woods behind our house through the shears and they add a nice touch. I have had many positive comments from friends.

Not just for the patio.
Comments about Product: I wanted sheers with a little color for my bedroom slider doors and the light green leaves on these are perfect. The 84" drapes softly on the floor and the fabric is really soft. I've gotten so many compliments and everyone wants to know where I found them.
Sheers with both style and function
Comments about Product: We bought several of these sheers which we hung together with the curtains which they perfectly complemented. They added just the right amount of design as well as function. Together with the other curtains, I am able to enclose the outdoor porch to protect the furniture. For someone that doesn't give compliments easily, I do not have one complaint.

Nice and Affordable
Comments about Product: I bought these curtains in white to go on one side of a screened porch to give me a little more privacy when I sit out there and also just for decoration. They really make the porch look inviting and breezy. I'm happy with this purchase.
Comments about Product: I have an interior atrium with sliding glass doors to my bedroom. I did not want to block the serene view of the fountain and koi pond from my bedroom, but I needed just a bit of sunlight control to keep my room cool. My problem was that the atrium is exposed to the elements ... especially rain. I saw these sheers, loved the natural green leafy design on the white background and the fact that they could withstand rain. Problem solved!
Outdoor sheer curtains
Comments about Product: I have hung these on each post of my pergola just to add some softness. I am having a hard time keeping them tied back. The wind pulls them out at the slightest breeze

Perfectly simple & luxurious
Comments about Product: Perfect solution for glass-doors that cannot have a screen door fit to its opening. Actually keeps bugs out! (But I won't test the night-life rodents, eg. bats! Prevalent to this area of PA.) I will affix self-adhesive velcro to both long edges as well as to the side door frame of house to create a more tailored fashion. Love the product!
I would buy this product again
Comments about Product: Pretty design and color, hangs nicely, nice accent for the room
Very Happy With Purchase
Comments about Product: I used the curtains outside on a patio - the sheer fabric with outdoor protection was perfect and the effect was exactly what I needed for this outside area of my home.
Comments about Product: The outdoor curtains were pretty, but nothing near the quality I expected. To achieve the look I wanted I would expect the material to be a heavier quality. They were much too thin to enjoy the color and leaf print without buying twice the amount of panels needed to provide privacy. Being very thin they also blew up easily with the slightest breeze and the hem was too shallow to allow me to weight it.

Very poor quality
Comments about Product: This is the second time I've ordered these sheers to hang on our porch. When I opened these new ones, I was very disappointed. The first set had a 4 inch hem and good quality fabric; the new ones are a thin, flimsy fabric with a little tiny hem and even tinier hem around the edges. I feel cheated.
Comments about Product: Purchesed two of these as accent to our new Hot Tub. They are absolutely wonderful and gives just the finishing touch to the Hot Tub area. Love the way they gently blow in the breeze. Plan on purchasing four more. Highly recommend.
Comments about Product: We bought these sheers to add to the thicker, striped panels (also from P & H) for our screened-in porch. It gave a rather unused, stark area a much softer touch and even took the summer heat down several notches! We are out there more often and love the look! They are well made and arrived quickly!

Comments about Product: I purchased four of these sheer curtains for indoor/outdoor use in summer 2009, and decided to increase the fullness of the drape, so ordered two more this year. I am disappointed in the quality of the new sheers -- material quality is poor as is craftmanship. For example, the sheers ordered last year have a nice 3 inch hem; those orded this year have less than an inch and as a result don't hang as well.

Comments about Product: these shades are lovely--- a nice addition to our deck area
Godd, complete description
Comments about Product: I saw these outside use drapes in your catalog and they were the color I wanted for my new shower. Ordered them and shortened thm to the lengthI wanted and they look absolutely stunning. When I found out they were for outside use this is the reason they were ordered. That means to me they will not rot, will dry easy and they they are durable. Thank you for your quality items. Have been satisfied in the past, am not saisfied in the present and know I will be satisfied again in the future.

Comments about Product: I was thrilled with these sheers last summer and used them as needed for increasing shade on my beach house front porch.I discovered I needed 2 more to increase coverage but they were sold out. Ordered them nice and early this year but found the curtain was much sheerer and a lighter weight than the same one I received last year so they don't really match :(

Light and airy
Comments about Product: I ordered these panels for a bedroom. They add a softness without being heavy looking. I know they wash well because I have a dog who loves to pee on any and all the curtains in the room. They are easy to slip off and on which is one reason I bought them (knowing my dog's propensity). Due to their light weight, if you wanted to use these outdoors, it would have to be somewhere without much wind as these would be constantly billowing in the breeze.
Comments about Product: I bought these sheers for privacy and sun protection on my new screened porch. They are perfect. They are light&breezy and I feel like I'm at the beach! I'm very pleased and would definitely recommend.
Works for us
Comments about Product: We bought this to give us some shade in the afternoon on our front porch. It works well. Keep in mind if you use it for this that it is a shear not a shade cloth. It does a good job for us. I would like it if it had grommets on the bottom as well as the top. That way you could mount it on two rods to stop it from blowing in the wind.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
