Simple, Elegant And Maintenance-Free
Beautifully crafted from eco-friendly, sustainable eucalyptus, our classic slatted furniture is made for long-term outdoor use - with little or no maintenance required. Eucalyptus is very dense, with a straight grain and high oil content, so it's exceptionally durable and weather resistant. It's excellent for outdoor furniture-the look and style of teak without the maintenance and expense. Each piece is simple and elegant in design, with perfectly spaced slats, well-proportioned contoured seats and wide arms. The natural pieces feature a deep, rich stain that weathers over time to a soft gray. Or stain it occasionally to maintain the warm, rich hues. Painted pieces have an automotive-grade paint guaranteed to withstand the elements. Assembly required.

We liked our first rocker so much (6 years old) that we ordered another. Great value. Only problem was that the slatted back of the chair had a label to aid the assembly was wrong -- the side marked "front" was really the back. Once I turned it around, the assembly finished up smoothly. Except for the little pegs that fill in the bolt holes. My husband and I never could get them to stay in, even using a mallet.

Somewhat easy to assemble...I did it by myself (although a 2 day process with the gluing). I've enjoyed the two rockers (in natural) under a covered porch since purchasing and have found it to be pretty sturdy. The only downside is that whomever in China manufactured it did not pay much attention to aesthetics. There were several "saw cuts" that were filled with unmatching wood filler. Nicks and scrapes everywhere (this was very noticeable during assembly). There was one big filled saw blade nick on the arm rest that is very noticeable. With the discounts offered by plow & hearth I guess it was about what I expected. Had I paid full price I would have been more upset. This is the 2nd low quality purchase from plow & hearth and I will be questioning any future purchases.

Comments about Plowhearth Classic Slatted Wood Rockers And Side Tables:
Purchased for front porch area new house. Wood a little rough scuffed in areas but generally good condition. They look fabulous. Can't comment on durability as just received and put together over weekend.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

NOT THE SAME AS THE PAST!
By so sad - quality gone

About Me Midrange Shopper
We have been a fan of Plow and Hearth white slatted outdoor furniture. We purchased the porch swing in 2002, 2 rockers and a side table in 2003, an adirondack in 2005. All were painted with durable and smooth white paint and made in the USA. Our front porch became our favorite 'room' of the house! In 2010, we replaced the swing and it was NOT the same quality (made in China) as the original that was made in the USA, but acceptable. We just ordered another rocker that was so poorly made and painted that we didn't even bother to put it together! We requested free return shipping because the product was defective. Part of an arm had wood missing and a dent BEFORE it was poorly painted. THIS rocker was made in Indonesia. I looked back at my former furniture receipts and looked up the company that made the furniture in the USA. Sadly, the company closed down in July 2006, explaining why Plow and Hearth has switched to another vendor. I'd rather not bother with buying such cheap products any more. I was disappointed with a Christmas item I bought in the winter as well. It was also cheaply made. Don't let the wonderful catalog pictures fool you!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Nice Strong Table
from Crossville, TN
Very sturdy table. It is an expensive small table but bought it on sale and it matched the rocking chair. Goes perfect together and is the right height.
Very Nice Rocker
This rocker is very comfortable without the cushions. I use it everyday on my covered front porch. Now my husband wants one. Very sturdy and easy to put together.
Better than even I expected.

I wanted these two chairs for my Labor Day patio party. P&H got them to me the Friday before, but unfortunately both boxes were seriously damaged and the delivery man helped me open them. Both chairs had broken parts. Sent both back and emailed P&H. I did get quick delivery of two additional chairs. Boxes still damaged, but less so, and both chairs were fine. Easily to assemble (I got the side table too) and they are unbelievably good quality. I may order 2 more for inside my cottage-style home.
Some quality control improvement needed
from Mt Airy NC
We bought two of these chairs in dark green. One rocker was defective. I called customer service and was immediately helped and a new rocker was on the way. We assembled the second chair with no problem. Fortunately we received not one but two replacement rockers, because one of the replacements was also defective. The actual assembly was pretty easy, and the chairs look nice from a distance and are reasonably comfortable. But both chairs came already scratched and dinged with flaws in the finish.

About Me Budget Shopper
I really enjoy the 2 white rockers that I purchased. They are very attractive, comfortable-+ and everyone that comes to my home seems to sit in them and overlook all of the other furniture. I would definitely recommend to a friend or purchase additional chairs. The only problem I had was the back of the chair needed to be labeled as you could easily put it on backwards (learned the hard way).
from Sebewaing, MI
this chair has been a nightmare. Plow and Hearth stood behind and reshipped a whole new chair.. that one did not have wood parts that fit together either...we called and they again reshipped the parts that did not go together. these fit but had definate stain issues and also mars and holes in the wood of the chair. not what I expect for a [$] chair. it however is comfortable...i'll see how it holds up in weather.
We ordered this rocker as a gift for a friend who was retiring. We could not have been more disappointed with the finish (the "natural" rocker.) The pieces of wood did not match - some light, some dark, some glossy, some matte. The wood had a rough surface, joints were mismatched. Of course, trying to repack for a return is a nightmare. Not recommended, primarily because of a dreadful, rough, uneven finish and mismatched parts.

Disappointed - hoping for better
By Colorado Mama
Initially, we were excited to receive our rockers but soon grew disappointed. The construction on one of the rockers was poorly done (wrong sized holes) and we couldn't even assemble it. We had been hoping to use them for an event this week but now will probably have to go through the hassle of sending back a large package. Ugh! Also, the paint was chipped and cracked in some places when the rockers first arrived. We are hoping that Plow and Hearth will rectify this situation quickly.
Missing pieces and hardware
from South Carolina
Ordered two rockers for out of town guests to enjoy on our porch for Easter weekend. One was fine, the other was missing pieces AND hardware. A replacement won't arrive until after guests are gone and holiday is over, major disappointment for our first order with Plow and Hearth. The one chair that could be put together looks nice in the natural finish. I would rate it higher if both had arrived able to assemble.

The products are great! The customer service was horrible and I will never shop with your company again because of that very reason. If you would like to know more please feel free to contact me.
from New Hampshire
I bought two rockers and have observed that they are poorly constructed. Many of the screw covers did not fit, and one of the seat slats was loose and not glued. They were uncomfortable, so I bought seat cushions. However, that made them worse as the cushions position you toward the edge of the seat and lean you forward. Not sure why the cushions do not seem to sync with the chairs.

I bought these for high back folding porch chairs. They were a perfect fit and oh-so-comfortable. They make the chairs look like new again. Definitely a good buy!
I would recommend and buy again.
For comfort and great look.

extra luxe rocker cushions
from Cherry Hills, CO
These are the nicest outdoor cushions I have found for rockers or any other patio/porch furniture. They are more like indoor upholstery with the cushiness of a tempurpedic foam.
A good quality item!
from Hillsboro, MO
I was completely satisfied with this purchase. The cushions are attractive, comfortable and fit my rockers great. The fabric seems durable and hope it holds up over time and weather. Time will tell if I would buy them again.
rocker, chair, and bolster cushions
from brookeville, md
rocker, chair, and lumbar cushions: Love the color, design, fit (for my antique wicker porch furniture), and feel of these cushions. I've had them only a short time so don't know how they'll hold up, but I hope they will.
Back rocker cushion too thick.
from Elkhart, IN
The rocker cushions are on the front porch. However, the back cushion is too thick, at least for my taste. Seat cushion is great.

I really like these rocker cushions. They last well, are comfortable and fit very well. I miss some of the old fabrics P & H used to carry-soft muted florals are not available any more.
Rocking Chair Seat Cusions way too thick
from Nelson County, VA
We've bought these chair cushions every few years from P&H and we love them BUT....this year they are about twice as thick as before, and we don't like them. When both seat and back cushions are used on a traditional rocker, the back is so thick (about 2 1/2") and the seat so high, you can't sit as comfortably as before. You can't sit back into the chair and your knees stick out the front a bit. Strange. Don't know why they changed them.
from Cherry Log, GA.
Looks great on my porch rockers, colorslook just like in book. Will be used for a long time.
- Extemely poor quality - Screws strip - Pre-drilled screw holes do not completely line up. - Paint quality is poor. [...]
I always tried to get my husband to buy me a rocker when we eat at Crackerbarrel!! Since we are always traveling when we eat there it wasn't feasible...however, I have my rockers on the front porch now!! Just as nice if not nicer!!
better than Cracker Barrell
from Illinois farm
I often admired a chair like this at the Cracker Barrels restaurants...this is better!
