I purchased three of the tall trellises for the front of my house. They have been through two Colorado winters and not a speck of rust on them. The are beautiful and strong.

I really liked the look of the trellis, and the height was perfect for the corner I was placing it in. For that reason, I would rate it a bit better than 3 stars. The reason I didn't give it 4 or 5 stars is because, in the picture, it looks quite black, and the description stated that it was powder coated iron, so I assumed it was black, which was what I had wanted to match the outdoor hardware on our house. Unless I missed it somewhere, color was not mentioned, but it is much more of a brown color - not what I was looking for. Also, because of the height, it really does need much longer ground stakes at the bottom - it can't be pushed into the ground far enough to support itself or the weight of a lot of vines after a couple of rains or windstorms. We ended up having to use the included brackets to attach it directly to the house - not something we really wanted to have to do. This is why I rated it as flimsy and poor design. So if you're looking for a black trellis, or you want it to be freestanding(not drilling holes into your home exterior)I would not recommend this trellis. We made it work merely for the inability to find a more suitable trellis of that same height. And it does look nice, though not the color we thought we were getting.

Comments about Plowhearth Montebello Trellis:
A nice height for smaller climbers. Very pretty. Plan on finding a way to brace the trellis.

Color not as expected
By 4 Paws
from Albany, OR
NOTE: It is brown, not black as I expected from the photos. That works for me but may not for others. It is pretty solid for a shipped item but not as solid as I expected given the other comments. I was also disappointed that the smaller trellis does NOT come with hardware to attach it to the wall. Given its height, it still needs to be secured at the top, especially since the bottom spikes are screwed on and not integral to the unit. Now I have to find a matching brown bracket to secure the top.

We attached the trellis to the side of our house (4 brackets included). Very sturdy. We couldn't be happier with our purchase.
Very nice and tall

Much larger than most found in stores. Easy assembly. I pounded holes in the ground with a metal rod and the legs on the trellils went right in. You have the option of attaching trellis to house if need be. I may need to do that later if my clematis takes off. Very happy with quality and price paid.

We dug a new flower garden used a pair of these trellises and your Classic Garden Obelisk as anchors for the garden. They are very impressive looking. We started a little late in the season, so now I have to find climbing plants for them. I imagine they will be even more impressive filled with vines and blooms.

Looked everywhere for extra tall trellises. These were shipped very fast and our landscapers installed them screwing them to the brick exterior. They really finish the entire look. We ordered three for our backyard and I am so glad we found these instead of settling for the standard 6' trellis. Hopefully they will hold up well.

Everything great as advertised. Was surprised there were no instructions to explain how the hardware was to be used. Three different sized bolts for example.
Nice Trellis but It is starting to rust.

I've purchased two already and will purchase a third. The only complaint I have is the coating is chipping away from the trellis. I only had them out for 8 months.

I purchased one a few years ago. We attached it to the siding. We planted a firethorn bush (pyracantha) and trained it on it. It is above the trellis now and has held the weight without problem. We bought a second one for another site we were so pleased

Gorgeous trellis - it's really tall and for a great price! We bought a couple smaller ones from a store to cover a hideous/tacky fence the neighbor put up - wish we'd found this one first. We love it!
Looks nice but...

About Me Master Gardener
The trellis is simple to assemble. However, the fit of the base piece to the middle section did not meet expectations. Instead of fitting together with some ease, one had to horse these things together with substantial effort. After one season in upstate New York, an identical trellis to this one has rusted in places where there are no weld joints or any other potential problem areas. This was disappointing since the trellis does look nice and otherwise functions well. The trellis stands against the side of my detached garage and has a vine climbing up it.

I love your trellis's, this is the third one I have purchased. They are nice looking and not cheaply made. I found this so easy to put together, I didn't feel I needed directions at all, do don't let this stop you from purchasing this trellis, it is worth the money!

I have placed my two trellises on either side of my Arbor Gate. Completes the detail I was looking for. A great buy.
Love the height
from Nutley, NJ
To support my climbing plants. It looks great full of flowers as you walk up to the front of my house. No trellis as been tall enough to support all the flowers that have grown on my clematis plants but this one gives plenty of room and then some.
Just the thing!

I purchased 3 of these to keep the #5&@! deer from jumping into our yard from the neighbors. So far it has worked!

I bought 2 of these for a small garden situated against the back of our house. It is 3 stories tall back there and the garden needed some height. These are what it needed. A climbing plant is heading up each trellis now. The looks are perfect; it seems durable. It pushed easily into the ground. I would have given this 5 stars but the assembly directions were practically non-existent.
Room to Climb!
By KP Climbing Clamatises
About Me Hobby Gardener
My clamatis is able to climb much higher and has ample room to grow on this trellis! The hardest part was connecting the pieces--very tight fitting! It was a bit difficult to assemble--perhaps metal was bent a bit [...] Not sure, but once together, looks great and overall the quality was worth the price.
By NJ Garden Girl
We bought several of these in the last few years. They're light weight, rust-proof aluminum. We spray painted ours a darker gray/black. They are sort of a brown/black color. You need to cement them into the ground if you want them to really stay in place.

Perfect fit for my space

This is a great trellis if you are looking for TALL!! I have a autumn clematis that gets too big for standard size trellises and this solved my problem beautifully. It was super easy to assemble. Only a couple of screws to attach the bottom and top halves and voila, good to go!! Very sturdy metal and I also liked that it is brown and not black like most wrought iron stuff, because my house is a yellow stucco with brown shutters, so I was also trying to find something that matched up with that! Very pleased! Oh, I also have a climbing hydrangea on the other one that I purchased and it worked well there too!
