I love the fact that the lighting is soft and it looks great at night..I just wish it would open and close like it's suppose too. Other than that it's a beautiful solar light.

I bought these lights for my mom for Christmas. Spending [$] for a solar light seemed kind of high and I expected a little better quality.I pulled the two I purchased out of the boxed prior to wrapping and shipping to her. I didn't want to embarrass myself with sending something that didn't work. It was late at night so I replaced the include 2 x AA (NiCd) batteries with fully charged NiMh batteries. I had to crack open the case by taking out six screws. A little tedious, but for outdoors it makes sense due to the gasket around the perimeter. The fully charged batteries were able to cycle the petals open and closed. The action is slow, taking about 3 seconds to open. The quality issue:-Cheap batteries: I recommend replacing with some fully charged NiMH batteries. -Gasket twisted or not seating: I recommend taking the six screws out of the solar cell hockey puck shaped thing (when replacing batteries) and ensure the gasket is not twisted or out of its intended location. This will lead to unwanted moisture which will corrode the batteries and/or the electronics.-Assembly of the hockey puck holder arm: I recommend inspecting the screws in the holding arm to ensure that the hockey puck says up (uses friction). On one of the two I had, the one pin in the pivot mechanism was not seated correctly. The hockey puck would then just fall and not face the sky. I had to take out two screws and then the "pivot pin screw" to pop the pin in place.After the above fixes I am happy and I think my mom will enjoy these. They will compliment her or any garden nicely.

These are one of the most beautiful solar lights I have ever purchased. In the past, I have always had a difficult time finding solar lights that looked nice and worked, but these are perfect for any garden and work extremely well!

The light itself is fine. However, I've yet to see these open/bloom. Best I can tell I'm not missing a trick, although maybe I am. One light works fine otherwise. The other one I bought seems to be having issues with the on/off switch and seems to require a lot of effort to make it consistently stay on. Since I have two, it's clear that it's an issue with the light itself. Overall the charge/duration is fine, and I like the softer light shaed by the petals, but I'd try one before buying several as I think the engineering is spotty.

They are in a garden next to my pond. They add color and in the evening are adorable lights. They stay lit all night long.
