I've used two of these for years and have never had a problem with flimsiness, blowing down, etc. I bought a new house and just ordered two more to hide my heat pumps. They are low, i.e., they will not hide tall trash cans, but there are many great uses for them.

I wish I knew how flimsy this product was before ordering it. I assumed, from the picture, AND the price (!) that the panels were solid, not just pressed plastic fronts. I had intended to use this on my pool deck to hide my pool heater but there is no way to secure it. Then I was going to use them to hide my barrels, but even with them being staked in dirt and gravel, a SLIGHT wind tips them over. There is no way to keep them from being knocked over unless you build a brace behind them somehow. The plastic corner of one of them cracked with an easy fall to the pool deck. Good luck !

Comments about Plowhearth White Resin Four-Panel Screen:
SPENT MORE TIME PICKING UP THIS PRODUCT FROM THE LAWN AS THE STAKES ARE NOT LONG ENOUGH TO SUPPORT THE PRODUCT. fINALLY THE PANELS RIPPED OFF FROM THE HINGES IN MODERATE WIND. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FOR CLIMATES WITH ANY WIND OR SNOW
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Instead of using this to hide a garbage can, we've used it to hide the litter box in our home - perfect use!

Beautiful but Flimsy
from Gouldsboro Pa
The product is very attractive. I wanted to use it to cover my A/C. We live in the mountains and at times get heavy winds. This product will NOT withstand wind pressure. It will be returned to the store.

TO MUCH MONEY FOR THIS FLIMSY ITEM . IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN HALF THE PRICE. ALSO DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER WHEN ASSEMBLED. NOT SO GOOD TO PULL GARBAGE CANS IN AND OUT.

Used this to enclose garbage can. Worked ok but the stakes could have been longer and more substantial and the panels would be better if they were fully formed (both sides) with a hollow center.

Very disappointed that this item was seen on another site after we purchased it for $30 less. We purchased 3 so it was almost a $100 difference. We had already taken them out of the box so we did not return. Your price [$] ea and we saw the same item for [$] ea. we will do our homework the next time before ordering from you.

Attractive but flimsy

I like the versatility of the screen, it needs to be made out of stronger plastic so it's not so flimsy when you're setting it up.

Not only do I use a set to hide the pool pump, but as I have an above ground pool I bought a 2nd set to hide the piping! Gives the area a finished look.
Great For Hiding Trash Cans, HVAC
By Rupert Black Dog
from Chesapeake Bay, Maryland
I have bought two of these so far. They are very useful for screening trash cans and recycling bins outside your house or for covering air-conditioning units and generators. They are indestructible and survive cold winters with snow and ice. I have painted the panels on mine to match the house colors and it gives a very good street-appeal to the house. There are no downsides to the product in my estimation.

This screen looked good but I spent all of my timedoing it again--Will try it to skirt my camper so it looks neat and tidy
Good product, simple to use and modify.

The unit was used to hide a propane tank and does it so easily. A simple drilling of holes allowed for additional securing points.

Disappointed in Product
from Granite Bay, California
The catalog/website photos were misleading, which means that the advertising was effective. However, it will make me think twice before I order from Plow and Hearth again. The product is too short to really conceal a standard refuse-company trash can. The can in the photo must be an undersized can or on a lower plane because mine are exactly the same height as the screen panels.Screens are very flimsy and blow over in a mere zephyr, not to mention a full-blown storm. No way to secure them in place on a slab. Awkward to open and close to get cans in and out of enclosed area. They fall over easily and don't remain in place. No truth in advertising with this product!
from Red Creek, NY
I wish it came with 6 panels and not 4, but otherwise? It's great looking
Love this screen
My grandson is getting married in a week here at my farm and the screen hides my garbage cans that sit on my deck. It is easy for a 71 year old to move.

I missed that this was plastic so that is my fault but I do find it unwieldy...hard to re- position when we take trash cans out weekly. I am still working on making it easier but wish it had a wood look.
Worked well to hide large ugly generator

The only thing I wish is that there were a way to make the screen level when placed on sloping ground.

About Me Handyman, Homeowner, Professional
We bought this as a screen for our HVAC unit. Only concern is that the rods that are driven into the ground as hinges/holding rods do not make a particularly robust installation. Looks nice though!
Pretty but Flimsy
from Alexandria VA
This screen was purchased to surround and hide an air conditioning unit. It is attractive and does the job, but the pieces are very lightweight and would not appear to be able to stand up to strong winds if used in an open area.
