Gorgeous screen, WOW! I couldn't use the back feet because my hearth is not at the same level as my granite "counter". But, no need, the screen stays put and even when the doors are open, it stays in place. I am soooo glad I bought the larger size based on other reviews because it fits perfectly with only an inch on either sides. The measures are true to form. I think my screen looks gorgeous because the surroundings around the fireplace (behind the screen) are black granite tiles. Don't think this would look good with a white background. Had to contact customer service and the lady was really nice, helpful and professional. I will definitely order again from this company.

The door don't close all the way it is not balanced
the tool set is ugly and it is not worth the price.

I purchased this screen 1 1/2 months ago and received it in 2 days. The service is excellent. It was easy to put together, however we realized that if we put the back legs on, it wouldn't fit. We put the screen up anyway, and it stands solid on its own plush against the fireplace. We have gas logs and were told not to use glass doors, but because this screen is so well ventilated, it works great. The doors open and close beautifully, but there is a slight gap at the bottom below the handles. Other than that, it's perfect. Be sure to measure and get the one that best fits your opening. We bought the larger one and wish I hadn't, because the arch at the top of the doors goes above our fireplace opening just a little. I feel that takes away from the beauty of the screen. But it is well made overall.

We love this screen. Replaced the mesh screen we've had for many years. So nice to have doors now instead of a sliding screen that was always difficult to open. The glass in beautiful and holds up to the heat of a well established fire. There are times I need to open the doors slightly which will allow a little more heat into the room. Solid construction and very pretty design.

Purchased Sept. of 2011. Quick delivery, well packaged. So simple to set up. Quality is very good, absolutely no complaints. Screen was purchased to cover the mesh type hanging screen which came with the gas logs. Ours is unvented, so doors are not allowed. This screens adds a touch of style! The look of doors, but still plenty of ventilation. The difference in looks is almost unbelievable. It sets well, no tipping. Handles are evenly matched also. Love the look of the flames behind the glass!

We were able to pick this up at the Outlet Store in Madison on sale and I could not be more pleased. It is heavy, very stable, and the doors open nicely. The screen has legs on the back in addition to the decorative scrolled feet in the front so it does not tip forward when the doors are opened. It fit our fireplace beautifully and looks so pretty.

Just received this yesterday and installed it today. This replaced my original brass frame with slide screen unit which came with the house 2 years ago when we moved in. My wife loves this new fireplace screen/door. It fits just right and compliments our fireplace really nice. I love the look of the black frame with the glass and double doors. This looks to be very well made and very strong. Hopefully this will last a very long time. Now I just need to replace my brass tools set/stand with a black set to match. I would highly recommend this screen for anyone looking for an affordable, attractive and well built fireplace screen. I didn't give it 5 stars because, as others commented, the handles on the doors are a bit misaligned....but acceptable.

I already had a firescreen, which my husband purchased at an auction; however, it did nothing for the overall appearance of the great room and was very plain. I looked for a very long time to find a better choice, and I'm so pleased with my purchase from Plow & Hearth. It truly completes the room and makes the fireplace the focal point in this area. It was the "perfect choice" for me!

Very nice product, but the hinge did need to be welded (part of the hinge fell out of the box when first opening the product). Fortunately, we could weld the hinge, and reinforce the other hinges.

One fireplace has electric logs, the other has gas logs; this screen enhances both and increases the beauty.

We used rubber sided tape on the braces to make sure it does not slide when the grandchildren get a little too close while playing.

It fits our decor well and fit our fireplace opening! It keeps some of the draft out that usually accompanies fires.It came in a very timely manner. It was very reasonable costwise. We couldn't be more pleased!

I love that i can open the doors and get into the fireplace without having to move the entire screen out of the way like i had to do with my old screen.

I wanted a screen that looks beautiful and enables me to enjoy the fire with the doors open (or closed,) but also allows me to let the fire die down without losing large amounts of heat up the chimney. This screen does all that. It's also easy to assemble.
