Heat-Reflecting Fireplace Bright Reflectors

Enhances the fire glow. I am not sure if less heat goes up the chimney but it does seem to be warm sitting next to the fireplace.

I would like to see this product a little heavier - but maybe that's unnecessary. It reflects heat into our living room at perhaps 40-50% more than without it. In addition, the high polish on the stainless makes the fire appear two or three times larger. We're very pleased with it.

I have a fabricated fireplace and it did not fit even though I bought the small one so I had to return it.

No directions in the box at all, had to call the company and ask questions. Very Cheaply constructed and flimsy. Over priced for what I got. Could have built my own for much less money. Warning, if you sign up for emails from P&H expect to get 2 to 5 per day. Had to put a stop to that.

We installed the reflector after taking off the plastic coating. My husband found it very difficult to remove, but I was able to peel it with little trouble -I'm used to peeling fruit! I was amazed at the difference in heat and ambiance. Great product!

Purchased to reduce heating oil costs using an open hearth fireplace, and to protect fireplace bricks. It definitely helps in kicking heat into the room versus lost up the flue. It raised 400 ft2 room temperature by 4 degrees. After 4 evening fires, the two back panels are slightly warped and permanently discolored. Side panels still bright and shiny. For setup, it's easy, but the white plastic coating take a long time remove. The panels are pretty thin, but do the job. For the quality of stainless steel, it should not be this expensive. If it saves on heating bills it should pay for itself.

I received the reflector in good time considering it is the holiday shipping season. Unfortunately, upon opening the box I noticed immediately that one rivet was already missing from a hinged panel and upon fully opening all the panels, the other rivet on the same hinge gave out. I've decided that instead of enduring the hassel of shipping the thing back and risk getting a defective replacement, I'll go to the hardware store and buy a couple of nuts and bolts and fix it myself. I'm sure the other rivets will fail eventually as this item is very poorly constructed.

This reflecter is fantastic! It doubles the heat and brightness. Watch logs burn from all angles. Amazing!

We just bought a foreclosure home that's been vacant for a couple of years. It needs a lot of TLC. We've never owned a fireplace, so we needed more than a cleaning; we needed a class. AAA Services San Antonio did a great job for a shockingly low price. I checked the Internet and it said chimney sweep services range $160 to $200, but they did the job for a little more than a hundred plus tax.
We didn't know our system was a log lighter with no pilot light. We have to light it with a match. They explain to us how our system works. We asked about gas logs and they sell them. They gave us four estimates for different styles, all include installation. We called them back and ordered the Hargrove Rustic Timbers gas logs with Radiant Heat, with Variable Pilot Control System and the optional switching accessory remote control. AAA Services installed them. We added this stainless steel reflector in the back to get more heat. We had read the reviews on this site and just as other reviewers have noted, it says remove plastic, follow instructions, but has no instructions. My husband and I pulled patiently at the plastic until we had pulled it all off and then let the professionals install it. Surpsingly the stainless steel reflector radically improved the range of the heat. Before the reflector, the thermostat temp on the other side of the room didn't reach 70 and the master bedroom was still 68. After the Plow and Hearth reflector, the main living space reached 72 and the master bedroom 71. And it's beautiful to boot! We love it. It all totalled a little less than $1000, which we thought was very reasonable. Photos have been uploaded here.

The last review about removing the protective coating helped avoid quite a mess. Instructions were unclear. The product once set up correctly is wonderful and functions as advertised.

After reading the other comment, I was hesitiant to order this. The instructions, although in typical Chineese/American, were understandable. The polished reflective side has a white plastic film covering. It was akin to finding the end of a roll of clear tape , and trying to restart it. Frustrating but not impossible. Once it started peeling, it came right off. Once assembeled and installed, it radiates heat and the glow of the flames beauitfully. Also kudos to customer service in answering any concerns I had.
