This fits in well on our deck. It was easy to assemble and can be easily moved around. I am going to have to drill a small hole in the bottom so that it drains from our drizzles and occasional rain. It appears sturdy enough to last for a good number of years.

Once I got it put together, it's nice. BUT, the outer ring was not machined properly and did not match up with the holes...SO, after using a bench grinder to shorten one of the spokes, and a file to enlarge one of the holes, it was finally possible to attach the ring! Poor craftsmanship. Once together, very nice-looking...have only used one time, so cannot vouch for durability. Also, note that you have to add sand to the bottom..cleaning might be a bit dicey but no big deal I suspect. Although it comes with a grill insert, I wouldn't want to cook much on it..It was lovely for roasting marshmallows..nice long forks. Recommended with reservations (assembly).

The pit was a gift to complement the expanded deck on our N. Tahoe home where days are warm and nights are chilly. It gives off sufficient heat and is very safe. I might suggest that you also market a pad, similiar to pads used under grills, along with the pit. We purchased one at our local hardware store and now are very secure about having the pit on the wood deck. It's a very attractive item, especially so with a crackling fire going. Can't wait to try it with the kids gathered around to make s'mores!
