Comments about Product: These are the new kitchen curtains. We had been considering window quilts for some time. They have an have an excellent balance between insulation and yet it allows for a lot of filtered light.
beautiful and warm
Comments about Product: Love them
valance worth the money
Comments about Product: A window in which one of the valances is hung is seen as you come up the stairs to the second floor. The rich red color and nice shape are eye catchers, and the quality is obvious. In the room they greatly add to the elegance I am seeking.

Comments about Product: couldn't keep item because our window is such an odd size.
The window cover was absolutely beautiful and good, quality material. I really hated that I had to send it back.

Good, with Reservations
Comments about Product: I had to return these because the color (Green Leaves) was just too "busy" to use in the room where I needed them. Also, I thought I would like just having one panel, but it's odd, and I couldn't afford two panels for each of my windows in that room. Make sure you know that you're getting just one panel when you order, not two. I would recommend, with reservations.
Not like the picture
Comments about Product: I expected this to look like the picture with the floral border at the top and the ivory panel below. I did not like the all-over pattern. I immediately returned this product as it was not the look that I wanted. I love the idea of window quilts, but not the busy look of the all-over pattern.
Comments about Product: I had to send everything back. Color was stated as red floral--when I received the valance, it was more a purple color. Could not use.

Exactly What I Was Looking For
Comments about Product: We use this product on our dining room windows. Helps with the noise that comes with "family eating together", big difference in maintaining temperatures, they look beautiful. I mixed solid color valance and panels. Definitely recommended. I have 1 more window to cover and will for sure re-order. Quality is unmatched!
Very simple yet pretty.
Comments about Product: I used the product in my bedroom to block out some of the draft, like that it's simple design is clean and pretty. Also like that I can still have daylight coming through because of the light color.
I love these Quilts. My room is beautif
Comments about Product: The only thing I got confused on was that when you order 2 you get two panels . Enough for one window. Making the window treatment a little pricey! I still like them a lot.
Quality and looks are just fantastic!
Comments about Product: I put these valances in every room. They look homey and are so simple to hang. There is nothing I dislike about these valances.
Perfect for keeping out the cold
Comments about Product: Since we moved back to Alaska and I read about a woman making winter curtains from quilts, I have painstakingly made those quilt curtains! Not easy making them look good! It was also hard to hang them on those rings!
Imagine how good it feels to find ready-made quilt curtains that are well made, easy to hang, and very attractive. Keeping out the cold is made so much easier. They are more expensive than the ones I concocted but actually, they look more expensive, too!
Comments about Product: These Floral Window Quilts were a beautiful addition to my guest room. I originally purchased 3, but then realized I would need 5 (total) for the look I wanted. Prior to hanging, I washed+dried them for more flexibility & to better smooth wrinkles. When the 2nd purchase arrived (and were washed+dried) I found they were not the same size. [Approx. 1/2 inch height difference than the first shipment.] Thankfully, I was able to finagle them on the rod so it wasn't noticeable at a glance.
Relaxed look but beautiful
Comments about Product: We have these curtains on our picture window and across the Living Room on our deck sliding glass doors. They are beautiful, comfortable looking, they keep out the afternoon sun and keep the room warmer in winter.
Comments about Product: Good

Comments about Product: Needed for sun block in bedroom doors to deck and privacy. Also needed to push aside at times, but too bulky and stiff. Quality looks poor in the light beige color, which I needed. Settled for thermal drapes instead.
Much prettier than I envisioned!
Comments about Product: I use this curtain for my bathroom, as a window covering and a shower curtain.
I would, HAVE, bought this product again
Comments about Product: I previously purchased the drapery panels in ivory. I love the appearance, quality, and fact that they do indeed cut down on drafts through older windows, and allow me to selectivly block light. After at least 2 years I decided to change the look a bit by adding the valence. While I had planned to order sage, it was not available, so I opted for moss. I was delighted with the color when it arrived and it works nicely in the room to give a different look. Even the men in the house noticed immediately and gave a nod of approval. Have added the quilted drapes and valence to a second bedroom, and will likely order another valence set to change the look periodically. Over the few years I've purchased these products the quality has remained excellent.
Comments about Product: I bought these curtains because I saw similar ones at a friend's house and loved them. Hers came from Plow & Hearth as well but she purchased hers some time ago. I was so disappointed. They didn't hang well because the material was so bulky. The panels were basically a quilt, cut into curtains. They were easy to hang but the openings were not well stitched. I was willing to spend way more than I normally do but after seeing them, I promptly returned them. They were way over priced. Sorry, but you asked.

Rich, floral warmth
Comments about Product: I bought these drapes to help keep out the Wisconsin cold but found myself loving the color and pattern.
I feel Warm & Cozy

I would buy this product again and again
Comments about Product: Very attractive, excellent quality fabric, well-made and warm in the cold months.
Comments about Product: I have the window quilt in our bedroom. It adds lovely detailing to an otherwise small and dull room. The thickness not only helps keep out light but also keeps out the cold.

Exacxtly like the magazine picture.
Comments about Product: I loved the window quilts but after hanging them they didn't fit with the over all look of our great room.
I plan on buying this product again.
Comments about Product: Theprinted curtains look beautiful and rustic. They have been extremely functional - keep the bedroom cool in summer and keep the cold out. They wear well and look even better after several washings.
Wonderful looking and great fabric!
Comments about Product: These floral curtains are beautiful. The ones I purchased are reversible - one side floral and the other side striped sage green. I have two windows on opposite sides of the bedroom - for a different look I have one window with the floral side showing and the other window I have the green striped side showing. It looks great. The curtains also keep out the heat and the cold.

FADED quickly - very disappointed
Comments about Product: I am extremely disappointed in these quilted drapes. I put them in my family room, one set between entranceways, and one set on french doors - every single one is now faded on the side facing where there is light (and my light is not strong). When I took them down to wash them, as we're putting on an addition, the fading is not a little, but quite extensive. I tied each panel with a ribbon to let light into the room, but in between the creases of the fold they are now all faded. I spent a LOT of hard-earned money on all these (I have 10 panels), and wish I could now return them all - love the design, but extremely heartbroken over how the color changed. Please note that some panels are only 6 months old, some are a year old.

Thick and lovely
Comments about Product: I sometimes work 3rd shift and even the tiny dots on the TV and DVR bother me. I have blinds, cheap broadcloth curtains from [...] and these on my bedroom windows. It could be sunny and hot outside and I would never know it. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!
Cozy and Warm
Comments about Product: I live in an old house with original windows in the dining area. The windows are drafty and single paned, making for chilly dining in the colder months.
I purchased P&H quilted curtains and hung them last fall. The dining room was noticeably warmer this past winter and spring, and much less drafty. The style fit my 1900s farm house and drew many compliments. These are great curtains!

Just what I needed...
Comments about Product: These quilts hang in our family room where we have two regular windows, and a north-facing bay window. With a long rod, we're able to hang these over the bay window so that when not in use, they don't obstruct the view, but when needed, they eliminate the glaring light of the setting sun, and then later add a layer of insulation to the room during the cold night hours. We also use them on the other two windows for insulation only.
red for an old red hot mama
Comments about Product: Cost too much but well made

Comments about Product: I have them hanging in my Living Room. They block out the afternoon sun (important in East Texas) and I am sure they will help hold the heat in, in the winter in my 70 year old some what drafty home. They are so pretty. I have had many compliments on them since I hung them. I love them. Would love to have more for the bedrooms.
Picture does no justice
Comments about Product: Love these curtains, made so nice and great price for the overall quality.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
