Comments about Product: I have owned 2 of these rugs.. Love the design and how it was so practical ... HOWEVER... after I shampooed both rugs they both curl at the edges and now have odors, I can NOT get rid of!!! Disappointed with the smell !!!Not sure if is due to the dyes that were used !

This rug was worth waiting for!
Comments about Product: I've searched 16 years for a rug that would meet my aesthetic standards and would work in our dining room... this is it! I'm a Shaker History enthusiast... love the theme of the rug. It's transformed the space we live in... it looks fabulous, feels good and and the doggies love it, too. Time will tell if it's as durable as it looks and feels. Have already recommended it to my Shaker History friends.
Comments about Product: Beautiful colors - attractive in most decorating settings. I replaced a lower-quality, thin rug with this runner for a high-traffic hall area. It is soft and plush underfoot; fibers stand up to foot traffic. I was pleasantly surprised at how heavy and thick this rug is and expect many years of beautiful service from it. I also plan to purchase another for the kitchen.
Comments about Product: We use it in the family room in front of the fireplace. Attractive, thick and soft
Comments about Product: great colors for the kitchen and rec.room
Comments about Product: Colors are bright and lovely; rug is thicker, softer, and more plush than I expected. I am thinking of buying a second one.
Comments about Product: I bought this rug and was very pleased with the overall design. Very colorful and vibrant without being "loud and garish." It is very elegant and looks so very high-end and will work with a multitude of decorating styles. I love it so much that I purchased more in different sizes and have placed them in my family room and adjoining dining room area. It has garnered me a lot of compliments. I'm pleased with the quality and durability as well. Money very well spent!
Best rugs I have ever purchased
Comments about Product: I purchased these rugs to use in my kitchen and liked them so much I have more in 2 other rooms of the house, all different sizes. The colors are softer than in the pictures, I was very pleased with that. And all of the colors blend well with everything. These are the nicest accent rugs I have ever purchased, and emphasis on the accent aspect. The rugs really accent a room, not overwhelm it. They blend well with any decor.
Love this Rug
Comments about Product: I bought this rug elsewhere and overall love the pattern/design BUT cleaning it is a disappointment. ALL of the edges are curling and has become rippled and I can't get it to lay flat. Plus it has taken on an odor which I believe maybe from the dyes within itself !
Extremely happy with this rug
Comments about Product: I bought the largest size rug to use in my living room. I wanted something pretty and a little bit different that would complement the room but be dark enough to mask dirt in a high traffic area. This rug fits the bill! The colors are rich and lovely--you should know that the background is made up of a few shades of green. This was perfect for me, but is really hard to see from the pictures here. The outer border is a lighter copper color. I'd been searching for just the right rug for months, and as soon as I saw this one, I knew it would be perfect. I'm very happy with it.
Rich, warm tones, better than the photo
Comments about Product: It looks & feels a lot like wool (not too scratchy) but without the care involved. The yarn & colors are understated & appear natural, yet are richer than in the photo and would completely obscure dirt. Bright specks, lint, etc. may show in the center, but to be expected with deeper tones. It's a high-quality rug.

So Happy With This Item!!!
Comments about Product: I just loved this rug... I have been looking at one very much like this one for years now, but with a little different design... My family room is more like a "parlor" to me so this really fits the bill...I am so glad that I looked to the Plow & Hearth Catalog, This rug was a little bit better priced with the exact same description as another country catalog. I even like the design better.
Thanks Plow & Hearth, for a great deal!!!
Beautiful, and holds up extremely well
Comments about Product: We have had this runner in front of our kitchen cooking area for years. It is soft underfoot, and hides stains well. Visitors often comment on its good looks.
We clean the rug on the driveway with a hose, detergent and a scrub brush, and let dry it in the sun draped over a ladder. It comes out looking nearly new every time. When this one dies, I will replace it with the same rug if it's still available.
Love this rug.
Comments about Product: Very nice design, and quite plush. It hides the dirt well, so I am actually using it in my kitchen. I had bought the matching runner elsewhere, so I was very pleased to find this smaller rug on the Plow & Hearth website.
This is my favorite rug of all time
Comments about Product: I bought this rug about 8 years ago. It's been in our family room—a very high traffic area—that whole time. It still looks great, but I as looking for something similar for our kitchen. There's nothing like it that I can find.
Comments about Product: I use it in my entryway. The first thing people see as they enter should be beautiful and this is!
Comments about Product: I have an eclectic mix of furniture in my living room, in jewel tones of Prussian blue, cinnamon and deep persimmon. The Shaker Village rug pulls all those colors together and unifies the room.
I have four cats who love the rug because it is soft and allows them to roll around on the floor, while staying warm. Something the rag rug and hardwood did not allow them to do.

Like walking on a cloud!!!!!
Comments about Product: I use this rug in my hallway. I was very pleased at how well made it is. It's very plush & thick. I just want to lay down on it. The print is very attractive and goes well in my old country home. Love, love, love it!!!!!
Not as pictured
Comments about Product: This rug has a nice feel and seems well-made but the colors are not as represented in the picture. The overall rug is blue, without the the bright pops of green, tan and other colors shown in the picture, and the border is a rather sad shade of tan, not the rich brown shown.
Overall I am satisfied with the quality of the rug, but not the appearance, and I would not buy it again or recommend it.
A+ on this test!
Comments about Product: Someone gave me this rug to use in my elementary classroom. I've used the rug for over 4 years now, and it still looks like what it looked like when the person gave it to me! Who knows how old it was before then? If it can stand up to years of use with 25 6 year olds at time, then it sure is durable. The pattern makes it hard to see the dirt, too. Plush & thick.
Even nicer than the catalog photo
Comments about Product: Beautiful colors, attractive design, very cushy feel underfoot, a lovely addition to our cozy, homey dining room.

Just what I was looking for!
Comments about Product: I wanted a rug for my kitchen that was durable, easy to clean, oriental in design, and blue. This rug has fulfilled all those needs. It isn't cheap, but the quality makes it worthwhile. One wouldn't know that it isn't a wool pile unless you put hands on it and really look.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
