Comments about Product:
Have only had chaise cover and XL rectangular table
cover in use for 2 months. They are presently covered with snow, so we'll see how they stood up in the spring! The quality is superior to ones we had previously that were not from Plow and Hearth.

Just What I Needed
Comments about Product:
Both of the furniture covers covered the furniture with room to spare. They have stayed in place despite some heavy winds.

great cover
Comments about Product:
The material is thick enough to withstand everything a woody environment can throw at it. It is pliable and drapes easily over my lounge chairs. I don 't have to fight with it when I put it on. The color is a rich dark green. I have not installed cords yet to tighten down. I haven't needed to even in gusty wind because it drapes fully to cover the whole lounge and has the necessary weight to hold it down. I love them. They look rich.

I would buy this product again
Comments about Product:
This furniture cover is used for the chaise lounge on my deck. It is extremely durable and fits so well that Hurricane Irene did not blow it off the chaise. It is very heavy duty and well made. The dark color green is quite attractive.

Good Product
Comments about Product:
Designed to protect your chaise lounge outside year around but I use it to protect my lawnmower so I can store it outside. I put the long end over the handle and the short end over the motor and deck. Works great!

covered well
Comments about Product:
The product arrived on time and was exactly as described. The covers were easy to use and to secure. It did seem that the covers faded rapidly.

Just right.
Comments about Product:
The size was exactly right; I almost bought the larger size but trusted the dimensions on the Web site. Perfecto! The fabric seems sturdier than the covers I can get locally; the last one I bought locally started ripping as soon as it got cold. I'm hopeful...

The Olla: A Brief History

Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.

When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.

The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.

Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!

How it Works:

Water is pulled directly through the terra-cotta!
