Comments about Product: I used these to decorate a Christmas tree for my mother's gravesite. It is so beautiful to see it turn at twilight. I've had several other people at the cemetary stop me to ask where I got the lights. I've used the same set for 2 years now, and love them. I'm hoping to change all my Christmas lights to solar this year.

Welcome sight each evening!
Comments about Product: I used the 400 lights exactly as shown in the catalog on the Montebello arbor. We sit and wait to see them come on every evening we're home. Breathtaking! Even better than the pictures. The only draw back is the very short distance from the light strings to the solar collector. I want to put these on another arbor, but it is in a shady corner and would not get enough light. The LED's make it a good value.
Comments about Product: A little pricey, but worth the extra expense. Very well made. The quality is far better than cheaper lights I purchased previously. I have both a 100 light string and 400 light string on my Korean fir and everyone stops to admire how beautiful it looks at night.

Solar-powered lights are terrific.
Comments about Product: This string of 100 lights light a dark deck at night. The UPS truck brought these around 6:00 p.m. and we set them out around 7:00. The solar collector got about two and a half hours of sunlight the first evening. (We have lots of summer evening daylight on the western edge of the eastern time zone.) Then they stayed lit until 5:00 a.m.! I cannot comment on their longevity yet, but I can say they work very well at first.

Comments about Product: The pictures are no where near as amazing as this looks in an arch. I ordered 1 400 set for a large custom arch and then a 100 set for a small arch. My husband was a little put back by the price for the 400 light set but I felt it was a good bargain. Guess who LOVES the lights and shows them to everyone who comes over, if you guessed my husband you were right. Instead of draping them down the sides, I wired tied them to the tops, they look like stars. I am ordering 3 more sets of 400 light today for more areas in my yard. Also, they are brighter in person than in the pictures. I just LOVE them.
Soft and Pretty
Comments about Product: I put a couple strings over an arch and another couple coming down steps.
love these lights
Comments about Product: Put string of 100 LED's on a 4 foot wire Christmas tree and placed at a friends pond. Beautiful and they love it too. Light quality is perfect for our use. Really easy to use. In upstate NY, the charging system seems to work just fine. The short instructions are ok, but the switching info is confusing. But, love the lights. May make a tree for us too.
Comments about Product: We strung these on an arbor (also purchased from Plow and Hearth) and while they come on at dusk as advertised, they only stay lit for about 2-3 hours. Hoping to use for a party later in the month but it may not produce the effect I wanted.

Beautiful For Arbors
Comments about Product: We strung these on our arbors which were located in a very dark area. Now every night we can look out and see all these beautiful tiny lights in the distance leading into the gardens. They are like a beacon in the darkness, this is just what we needed. They all light up as soon as the sun goes down and stay on until early morning.
Nicely made, Oddly confugured
Comments about Product: I guess I should have read closer. The four 50-foot strings do not connect end-to-end. The solar panel has 4 outlets to plug in the 4 strings of lights.
Does not work if not in direct sunlight
Comments about Product: Wish the directions were posted with the product. These need to be placed within DIRECT sunlight to work. I needed these for the north facing side of my house. Put them out a week ago and have yet to have any lights work!
string solar lights
Comments about Product: I absolutely love these solar lights. I put them (200 light strings and 100)for a special event we were having. They look so beautiful lining our trees up and down the driveway, I've decided to keep them up, and order more for the holidays.
200 solar lights
Comments about Product: Love the lights and so do my neighbors
Comments about Product: Excellent investment. Lights up very well and comes with a bonus electrical charger! Highly recommend!!
Comments about Product: I ordered the 100 lights string for an archway in our front yard. They light up beautifully. BUT, they are not white, they are blue. I wanted a warm white, but I'm leaving them, they are still quite pretty.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
