Comments about Product:
unrolled and laid flat! Perfect for deck.

Not particularly exciting
Comments about Product:
I ordered the "Basketweave" in a runner size for our front hall. I found the design to be rather blah and uninteresting, not as stylish as the photo indicates. It was also much darker in real life. I ended up keeping the rug because when I turned it over I found that I liked the "reverse" design better than the right side. It has a bit more white in it and so the chevron pattern stands out more. Unfortunately there was a large sticky label on the backside (because the rug really isn't intended to be reversible). It left a sticky residue that I was able to get up with much scratching and vacuuming, but that wasn't ideal. I DO like the texture quite a bit and think the quality seems good.

Comments about Product:
# 37604 size in catalog & label say 6'-7 x 9'6. it is actually 6'3 x 9'3". I have unrolled & has few wrinkles, not bad. Looks great.

Great product!
Comments about Product:
I use this in my 3-season room. It is perfect! There was a review that complained about the rug curling. I just put one gallon paint containers on the edges that had been rolled the tightest and they flattened out very nicely. I left the gallons on for about a week or so, it was easy to do in that room. The rug is soft under your bare feet, too!
Nice looking rug
Comments about Product:
This arrived extremely promptly. I bought the 7 ft round, and it was somewhat rippled from rolling up at the factory. After steaming and weighing the rolled edges down, it finally flattened out enough. I really like the look and feel of this rug in my kitchen under my heavily used table and chairs. Pleased with this purchase for the price.

Edges curl up - major trip hazard.
Comments about Product:
I purchased the 7' 10" round (Chevron pattern) in early spring. I unwrapped it and immediately noticed the edges were very wavy. I unrolled it upside down on the basement floor and weighted the edges down, it stayed that way for 2 months. In May, I put the it on the deck and within 2 days, the edges started to curl up. My husband thought it would flatten out with rain and sun and time. We tried to hurry it along by moving the patio seating all around the edges - to no avail. This will become trash in the near future and will be replaced with a higher quality piece. I should have returned it when I had the chance. I do not recommend the round rug.

Love this rug!
Comments about Product:
Needed a decent sized outdoor rug that could withstand coastal weather conditions. This totally fits the bill. Have had the rug for about 2 months and it has withstood high winds and rain with no problem. Feels like natural fiber underfoot - not like plastic at all. Color is true to the online photo. Considering buying another in larger size for under our kitchen table. No problems with curled edges after a few days. Very pleased with the quick delivery and expert packaging, too.

Good product
Comments about Product:
We had some water damage on the wood floor in our dining room. We want to refinish the wood in that room and the adjoining room, but got an estimate of $1,000. Just not ready to take that on right now. So I wanted a rug that would cover the water damage, look nice with the wood, and not clash with the bigger area rug that is nearby. This rug filled the bill! It looks great and I'm very happy with it!

Comments about Product:
I ordered this rug to go on our new deck. The rug was so tightly packed that it still doesn't lay flat on the edges. I have been waiting patiently and it still hasn't happened. It is a tripping hazard. Not sure what to do as I think the shipping will cost a lot to send it back. Very disappointed.

The Olla: A Brief History

Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.

When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.

The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.

Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!

How it Works:

Water is pulled directly through the terra-cotta!
