Comments about Product: I absolutely love these curtains. The pattern is very nice and so much nicer than the standard choices of plain or stripes. Yes, they are light weight as compared to others but I paid $50 for a panel versus $150. They not only add charm and privacy to my back patio but block the afternoon soon from my eyes, which in turn keeps the temperature down. I liked them so much that I went from an original purchase of 8 panels for the sides of my porch to another 6 panels as a decorative touch to the front of my porch.
Comments about Product: Looked for curtains for my screened patio forever. Needed something to block the sun in the afternoon. Finally decided on the brown circles style. Used two bronze 52" tension rods to hang on each side of screen door. Beautiful. Just perfect. Good quality.
Perfect for pergola
Comments about Product: Couldn't be more pleased! For our pergola I needed 3 panels per side. (Only put on East and West sides.) To keep curtains from sliding apart from each other when open in the breeze, I added 3 button holes on one side of each curtain and buttons on the opposite side. Love them! Couldn't be more pleased!

Comments about Product: I love these curtain panels. Purchased as a beautiful solution for privacy on one side. Medium weight and good construction. Hangs easily and easily slides open and close. I bought four of the longest panels and rod as I was covering an entire screened wall. The rod came with one center support, but I needed two, so buy an extra support for the weight of three or four panels. As with any curtains, they will blow in the breeze, so I leave open and close them only when the air is still.
A great find. I would recommend.

Comments about Product: Looking for something to use on our outdoor patio to block the late afternoon sun. These are doing the trick. Would have liked it to have weights in the bottom seams. Had to add my own since we have a lot of wind.
Comments about Product: The day I hung them outside we had a terrible storm and they were tested by wind and rain. Next day, they still looked perfect. Dry quickly, don't wrinkle. Just right!

Creates Shade: Some Improvements Needed
Comments about Product: We use it to block the hot morning son from porch area and large glass doors. It works well and cuts heat in the house. They make the porch usable in the morning. We use large clips to hold them together and keep them from billowing up and down the rod. This helps a lot.
Fabric is separating from the round eyelets that hold fabric on the rod. This happened nearly immediately without any tugging, etc. when I remove them this Fall I intend to strengthen that attachment myself. I expected better durability from the first 3 months use. I would recommend to a friend if they were clear in their expectations for the price.
Good price but bad quality control.
Comments about Product: Good fabric, but poorly sewn.
Outstanding product so far
Comments about Product: I've had 3 panels of 2 different lengths of the camel stripe curtain. I ordered them 2 months ago to hang from our covered area over our patio. I live in Ohio where we've had a very hot summer.During late aft/evening the sun is at just the right angle to shine on our table, making it too hot to eat outside. These curtains were perfect to block the sun. They squirt off nicely with hose. Only con is that they blow on more windy days, wiggling their way along the rod until they're no longer blocking the sun. Not really a flaw of the curtain as I wouldnt want a heavier curtain.Hopefully sewing neighboring panels together will reduce some of this problem. Otherwise I'm very satisfied.

Look nice, and pattern is not too busy
Comments about Product: I've looked at many, many options for our back patio which gets way too much heat from the afternoon sun since it faces the West. Most curtain options in the 108" length were at least $100+ for each panel, so I decided to try the olefin curtains from Plow and Hearth. Ordered 5 to begin with, washed them, and after slitting one side of the hem to insert some heavy galvanized chain, and stitch/tack it in 2-3 places for weight across the bottom of each panel, these will work nicely. Placed a second order for more to go around the sides. These would look nice with the patterned ones on the end and maybe solid panels in a matching or contrasting color for the middle panels to create some interest. Add some nice beaded or fabric tie-backs and you've got a great look for your outdoor "room".
Great Product.....just needs weights
Comments about Product: Very nice product; really helps cut down the heat on our back patio. However, light material and needed to add weights to keep from blowing all the time.
Great for Texas sun !
Comments about Product: I purchased 7 panels, to block the hot afternoon sun from our West facing deck in the wonderful Texas summer heat. It was a large span for hanging curtains. We decided on galvanized pipe. The grommets slide easily on the pipe, making it easy to open all 7 and close them. I am very pleased with my purchase. I will definately purchase from Plow and Hearth again.
Grommets not the best,flimsy material
Comments about Product: Grommets do not allow the curtain to open to the full width and the fabric is kind of flimsy for the price of these and especially if used outdoors..they will just fly around whenever there is a breeze, which can get annoying. I even sewed weights on them and it made no difference because the fabric is so thin and if you have to hem them, then it is also very difficult because you can't really iron olefin to get an even hem. Kind of bummed that I spent so much money on these and they do are not worth it.

Expensive and not true to size
Comments about Product: I was excited to get these curtains for my screen porch, but because of the grommet tops, they don't close to the full width. Also, the metal grommets make a big squeaky noise on the curtain rods, almost like nails on a chalkboard, because the lightweightness of these curtains. They fly around instead of lay flat. I was expecting heavier fabric for the price I paid for these. The color and the patterns are nice, but not the solution I was hoping for.
Perfect for creating outdoor room!!
Comments about Product: I purchased the green stripe curtains for privacy outside. The color is beautiful and easy to match. I had a little difficulty hanging because I had to use the joiner for the rods and I have to purchase three more because they weren't as wide as I thought they would be, but I would definitely recommend for privacy and blocking the sun. And they arrived early!!

Comments about Product: Great curtain, nice fabric perfect privacy hanging from my second story deck my only complaint is that it needs weights in bottom for wind control.
Comments about Product: Wonderful addition to our new backyard patio. Fabric is a little rough so I would not hang in bedroom .

Wonderful addition to our porch!
Comments about Product: The back of our home faces west and the evening sun can be relentless. These curtains have made our screened in porch comfortable in the evenings.
Great for inside storeroom
Comments about Product: Inside storeroom use.
Comments about Product: We put these up on our West facing front porch which just gets blasted with sun every summer afternoon and evening. They really block the sun and heat without making the porch and dining room seem dark. Love them!
Great addition to our covered deck

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
